Muppets. In your face, until you’re sick of them.
So this started off as a follow up find to the other picture of Mr. Snuffleupagus on a skateboard, but of course, I couldn’t leave well enough alone. It’s by no means the definitive Muppets skateboarding post, a good place to start for that is the Muppet Wiki. If only I could channel this enthusiasm and energy into my career…
Oi! Jacko!
I have no idea who Oi! Jacko Gym was, but near as I can tell by this picture, he must have been some sort of middle aged, weight lifting Sting impersonator from Australia. He’s not content to just ride a skateboard, he’s got to lift weights at the same time. The box commands you to “Do your push-ups with Jacko.” Can I just skip them instead? Also, I’m not so sure about the “Make & Do” booklet. It sounds like some sort of toddler potty training record. It looks like he may have been the Australian mascot for Energizer.
Which one is worse?
Interent trolls or skateboard trolls? Skateboarding trolls on the internet.
Fab Troll
Vintage Troll doll on a skateboard. On sale now at Fab.com. price reduced (?) to $20!
Skating Friends
It’s like the package says: “Skating Friends.” That’s Abby Cadabby on roller skates and Rosita on a skateboard.
Relp!
A Scooby Doo metal box in the shape of a quarter pipe. Get yours from a Crickefarmer. I still hate Scooby Doo.
LRT from Futurist
This “LRT” vinyl figure is from Futurist. I don’t get the aesthetic that they are going for with this guy and the accompanying shirts and skateboards. It is sort of reminiscent of Fisher Price Little People. Last Re-Tweet? I must not be the target demographic.
This is a thing
So, yeah. Errr…. Uhm. Yeah. Somebody wanted this mohair monkey doll enough to cough up $21.61 after a tiny monkey sized bidding war. Also, if you’re in the market, that weird rabbit with the spinning umbrella hat is back.
Wooden Skateboarder from Balsawood Toys
Balsa Wood Toys sells wooden toys, kits, and clocks. This skateboarder kit is actually made from pine. Turn the hand crank and his knees bend and the board shuffles. It’s a fun item, but I can’t get behind the $30 price and the fact that the skateboarder is riding backwards. It is a kit though, maybe you can build it in a proper stance. – Thanks to Matthijs for the tip.
Travels up to 10 Feet!
That would be accurate if you were talking about me lately… Buzz Lightyear is probably the second most ubiquitous character on a toy skateboard next to ole Bart Simpson, (Not to be confused with Bort Sampson.) If $11.99 is what they were blowing these things out at over at Ross, I’d hate to see what full price is. (Return)
