Silver Surfer Lands in London
The Silver Surfer has landed in London, which means Galactus can’t be far behind. I’m not going to lie to you, it looks bad for humanity. I hope the Silver Surfer is able to save us, and maybe afterwards he can get hooked up with a better filter. Silver but shots galore in the vid after the jump.
The Snack Artist Gets Ramped Up
The in-house Safeway brand Snack Artist tortilla chips in “ramped up” zesty ranch flavor. Radical.
Sacramento Republic FC
Sacramento Republic FC is making a (well deserved) push to get into Major League Soccer. One of the requirements for expansion teams is a soccer-specific stadium capable of seating 20,000 or more people. MLS, has been cagey about offering SRFC a franchise, but that hasn’t stopped them from promoting Built for Sacramento, a web site showcasing the proposed design for the new stadium. The video promo is eerily reminiscent of the city of Portland, with hipster barber shops, breweries, rabid soccer fans, two rivers intersecting, and yes, skateboarding. You can pretty much overdub “Portland” every time they say Sacramento and you might not notice, even with the visuals. Except of the weather.
Yardstick Bubblegum
The package of Yardstick Bubble gum, which is in fact a yard long, features funnish facts related to measuring things. Is the longest skateboard 37 feet, 7 inches? Which one is that?
Tony Hawk Spiral Loop
Tony Hawk on a vertical corkscrew run specially built in his facility, paid for by Sony Action Cam. You remember Sony Hawk… Yuk yuk yuk. I guess I overestimated his skills, I assumed this would be a piece of cake for him. What a fun line.
Trick Meter
Trick Meter is an all around excellent short film by Simeon Buncombe featuring skateboarding by Jack Fagan. Even when you think you have it figured out, it still manages to surprise, and surprise again. [Source: Movies.com] – Via tip from Betsy Gordon
An Army of Jodie Fosters
Not to be confused with Jodie Foster’s Army, because, you know, I have to spell everything out since being diagnosed with a phobia of people not getting my very obvious jokes. What are the questions that annoyed Jodie Foster in the 70’s? “Do you have a boyfriend? Are you really a skateboard champion? Did you go crazy after Taxi Driver?” Bonus spread of Lief Garret/Jodie Foster skateboard romance after the jump, and you might as well check out the extensive 2009 Skate and Annoy interview of JFA’s Brian Brannon when you’re done.
