Spotted on Craigslist, a Free Former board with Gator style graphics. According to Wikipedia, California Free Former went out of business in 1981, which means this is another Frankenstein graphic. I love how the owner put an actual Vision sticker on the top to try and throw everyone off the counterfeit scent. – Thanks to Seth Levy for the tip.

Version 2 Lab doens’t have much of a web site, but they have put images and videos on Facebook. Of course, there’s a kickstarter in the works too, but it’s not live yet. They sure are shiny. 5 lbs of lacquer may offset the carbon footprint benefits of recycled paper. Check out their “Maco” board (after the jump or on Facebook) which is actually kind of cool, except shouldn’t it be called “Mako?” It’s odd actually, the only picture on the web site make them look crappy arts & crafts projects, while the extra photos on Facebook make them look like polished products. – Thanks to Jeff Barrett for the tip.

The Morrow Bay Skateboard Museum (affiliated with Skatelab) is throwing a rent party of sorts, via some sort of crowdsourced platform called inidegogo. There are 5 days left to help them meet their goal. Start typing “skate lab” into google and it starts suggesting things like Skatelab bedding.

I finally found a board of my favorite band, McRAD. The board is produced by VILA Skate out of Sao Paulo, Brasil and is available in different sizes and shapes.

What used to be the second longest running skateshop in Portland shut it’s doors when they lost the lease on the Department of Skateboarding (DOS Bowl still lives) They were supposed to reopen but they kind of disappeared for a while. You hear rumors but nothing substantial, until a few years later you get an email. The Grand Opening at 1400 E Burnside this Friday.
