The Lazy Editor Features: Video grab bag
Wuss with a gun starts some skate harassment before getting beat down by skateboarders. Chubby, no – fat kid teaches you how to ollie. Happy endings for everyone.
Oklahoma welcomes you.

Skateboard Action: They are the “ice skaters”
People who skateboard on ramps are called “vertical skaters.” People who skateboard on anything they can find are called “street skaters.” And people who ride on flat ground only are called “freestyle skaters.”
Freestyle skaters are usually the most graceful. They do handstands, jumps, spins, and twirls, often performing planned routines set to music. They are the “ice skaters” of skateboarding.

Trifecta Live Webcast on GO211
GO211.com is doing a live webcast at the Trifecta. Coverage should start at around 12:00 Pacific Standard, according to their man on the scene Mike Estes. You can catch it on their Oregon Trifecta 2009 page. GO211 wins the award for most un-targeted advertising. I got interstitial video ads for dishwashing soap and the U.S. Army before I could watch the Trifecta teaser. On a side note, I’ve heard multiple tales of people heading out to Lincoln City only to find a crappy sign that says “Trifecta Cancelled.” Nice. See ya there!
First person to spot Kilwag in the webcast and leave a comment here with what I’m wearing will get a free T-shirt.
Home movies from Del Mar
From the annals of YouTube, home movie footage of a 1985 Del Mar contest with runs from Christian Hosoi and Tony Hawk. Someone’s parents must have had some dough, because the camera had sound too. One funny bit, the crowd goes nuts for two consecutive head high airs, but then almost falls silent when Hosoi only goes chest high on the next wall. It was impossible to get a good still capture from this footage.

Reader DIY: Wood and concrete
Reader Bill Morgan sent in some pics of his DIY project. It started as a quarterpipe painted to look like concrete. It sits in his rather short driveway, but there’s a hell of a lip where the driveway meets street. So what’s a skater to do? How about poring a nice little micro transition to make the approach work without having to ollie it? And while you’re at it, why not put some thin set on the rough patch of street? You’ve go to be in good with your neighbors to get away with that!
Skateboard Mania on Franklin Mint Blog
I don’t know who this Franklin Mint Blog guy thinks he is, but he’s trampled all over about a weeks worth of posts for me in this entry called Skateboard Mania. He’s got the standards like Farrah, Skateboard, the movie, and the Wonder Woman episode. There’s the less known Stacy Peralta on Charlies Angels, and the even more obscure Jodie Foster movie Foxes, that has some skateboarding in it. He’s got the whole Sneakers and Lace Skateboardin’ USA album ripped from vinyl and ready for download. Well Mr. Smartypants, you missed something. Jodie Foster actually released a pseudo disco single where she kind of talks over a backing track. It’s pretty schlocky, but she mentions a skateboard in it. In any case, he did come up with a old picture of Brooke Shields lounging on a skateboard. I tip my hat to you. Excellent post. Be prepared to spend some time at the Franklin Mint Blog.
