Aaaaaaay! Sit on it Potsy!
More overpriced skateboard based furniture, but don’t take our word for it:
Skede-tuoli on saatavana nahkapäällysteisenä tai pelkistetyn teräksisenä. Tuolissa käytetään harjattua, ruostumatonta terästä. Se on saatavana yksivärisenä beigenä ja mustana. Tikkauksissa vaihtoehtoina ovat beige-beige, musta-musta, musta-beige ja musta-pink.
Uh, yeah. Available from Tunto Designs for 800 – 1050 € which is about in the $1000-$1400 range according to GoCurrency. If that’s not already too expensive for you Mr Warbucks, don’t forget you’ve got to pay for shipping from Finland. You can get it in plain steel, leather upholstered or without the skateboard even. Although, if you are going to go to Finland to get a chair, you might as well get the deck from the Finnish company Control as well. Looks a little forced and not-so-elegant to me. A couple more pics after the jump. [Source: PadStyle ]
Skate Paris, learn to work a camera first please.
Let’s see, maybe 1992 doing the backpack tour through parts of Europe and I took this horribly exposed slide under the Eiffel Tower or La Tour Eiffel as they like to call it in country. In Paris (duh!) we lucked out in arriving at a rare time when the pools underneath the tower were drained, but we felt like jackasses because we neglected to bring our sticks. See the poorly scanned full frame enlargement after the jump.
It’s a long way back to Germany
Our spy in Europe sent in this report. I don’t know what it means other than you are going to get sick of seeing pictures of Marek.
here are some photos from that east german park – oschatz – it wasnt bad but only thing which was kind of challenging (czech spelling for me please) was that vert pocket. at first it looked like humongous oververt thingy but in fact it was only freaking tall rounded tranny with four feet of vert. fun as fuck. anyway… gotta go:)

Local Czech goes home, makes good
Portland transplant Marek Litinsky is back in Czechoslovakia working for the KGB selling used skis. Don’t ask me, apparently it’s enough money to make it worthwhile. While reports have been almost non-existent, he had this to say:
I also entered national championschip in bowl and ended up third. so I had money for a party. I love Czechs. Pilsner Urquell on tap for $1.50 with tip….
The picture above was featured in the print version of the the Czech skate mag called Board. I couldn’t find a link to a story or anything but you can Czech out a larger version here. Nice shirt Marek.
Czech, Czech, Czeck. One-two, Czech, Czech. It’s fun to say and type. Photo credit: the Unknown Czech.
Claus Grabke Retrospektiv
The email came to me in German, which I can’t read. We cover stuff from the U.K., so why not? Looks like there is a Claus Grabke retrospective in a traveling skateboarding art show. This one is in Stuttgart Germany, or I don’t know my geography. I like art. I like Claus Grabke. There was a really good interview with him in issue 57 of Juice magazine, including an interesting bit on his short stint with Powell, and how Peralta kept trying to mentor him, with Claus talking about how he already had a father and didn’t need another one.
