It’s a big weekend for Burnside. Saturday is a jam packed day of skating, raffles, contests, tacos, after parties and other fundraising activities. Sunday is a chance to lend some elbow grease with a work party. Check out the full flyers after the jump.

Dan Bourqui put up a gallery of shots from last weekend’s Vans Protec Pool Party, check them out at 50-50.com. I watched about a half hour of it on Saturday, the whole thing kind of snuck up on me. I didn’t realize it was happening until Grover called me asking what time it started. The biggest noteworthy event has to be Tony Hawks return to competition. He placed 4th in the Masters. The webcast announcers definitely recognized his skills but pointed out his tendency to “halfpipe It” instead of scoping out pool-ish lines. Also of interest, Amelia Brodka noticed that last year’s female winner Lizzie Armanto (see photo by JCB) was inexplicably left off the hanging banner, even though they had been included in previous years. – Thanks to Concretins Nik for the tip.

Tito from Team Pain sent in some pictures from the Quicksilver All 80’s All Day Vert Challenge, and because some of you will ask, it had a 9.5 foot radius and a foot and a half of vert. Team Pain built the ramp and donated it to Grover’s back yard after the event. Ha ha, just kidding. They did build the ramp though. Photos and a good Quicksilver video recap after the jump. Red Cement Skateboards is hosting the 10th (!) annual skateboard contest at the Albany, Oregon skatepark on Saturday.

Here’s some more Lincoln City Trifecta pictures from Colin Walsh. What’s going on in that dumpster? The skull candy dudes put a post up somewhere claiming there were goodies in the trash, one person jumped in and scored some headphones, seconds latter every child under the age of 15 was knee deep in everyones trash hunting for goodies, some kid even got a complete out of the trash, some left with prizes others were not as lucky and probably contracted HEP C. I wasn’t able to make it to the Trifecata this year for the first time in… holy cow, I was there for seven years in a row. So not a bad run, yet I still felt guilty. Fortunately, the Trifecta somehow managed to go on without me, and Colin Walsh (Rules) was there in Lincoln City with his camera and sent some pictures in. You can watch the Oregon Trifecta live on the Go211 webcast, in theory at least. Every time I tried to watch yesterday it was down.

Hey wow, I’ve got a tone of photos from the 2009 leg of Pier Park that I never put up. I had the second page almost ready to go with a third one in progress. I combined them, did some minor clean up, forget about any names, no time, no memory. Is the Oregon Trifecta still on for 2010? The official web site looks like the internet equivalent of an abandoned house, but I thought I heard Choppy on the mic during the best trick contest at the Dew Tour. I talked to Don Bostick and he said it was still on. I mentioned the abandoned web property and he mumbled something about Choppy having fundraising problems. I have to paint my house this weekend. Lake Oswego Parks and Rec is having a youth skate competition at the Lake Oswego Skate Park next weekend August 7th. Their website is lakeoswegosports.org. They are also looking for donations Colin. If you are interested in supporting the youth competition contact the Lake Oswego Parks and Rec skatepark coordinator. Any type of donation is appreciated!

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour hits the Department this Saturday July 10th. Get some before it shuts down. The Department, not the contest series. The Alliance of Action Sports puts on this tour and the Dew Tour. I saw some of the Dew Tour on TV the other day under the program name of “Action Sports.” More interesting is the fact that they aired a commercial for their online store. I don’t know if they are carrying their own inventory and doing their own fulfillment or… hold on. I just called the 800 number, and once I got past the corporate phone tree messages, the person that answered said they were from StandardBoardShop.com.
