The Suits recognize skateboarding

The powers that be in Oregon are hip to skateboarding. The official web page for the State of Oregon has a small thumbnail of a skateboarder enjoying some Oregon concrete on the main page for the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. It appears to be just for illustration purposes and doesn’t link to any sort of information about skateboarding in Oregon. It should link to SkateOregon.com. (Thanks for the tip Sam!) Anyone care to hazard a guess as to identify the skater and the park?

It’s Geth Noble at Florence – I took the picture. I guess they yaked it from my webphotogallery.

  2. I checked this morning, and could only find one bonafide suit. I did find several smashing sport coats, though.

We give grants to help build skate parks, and have been for years. If it’s recreation and it’s outdoors, chances are we’ve supported it in one way or another. We’ve sent skate park money to Hood River, Willamalane, Waldport, La Grande, Aumsville, Myrtle Point, Grants Pass, Athena, Port Orford, Seaside, Tigard, Irrigon, Maupin, Madras, Adams, and Florence (among others). Most of our grants are funded by the Oregon Lottery.

We ask these cities to send us photos when the work is done. Seeing a project finished and people playing outdoors is the big payoff for us. Florence sent us a bunch of photos of Geth Noble. We didn’t realize until now these shots belonged to a different photographer and actually came from skateoregon.com. Great shots.

@Steve: My apologies. I’ll add an ALT tag to the photo with a credit to you, or I can take the photo offline and use another. Up to you. Send me your email address so we can talk about it? Addy: chris dot havel @ state dot or dot us

    Thanks.
