Vet Econ: You do what else?

Is there a doctor in the house?

Veterinary Economics magazine has a feature called You do what else? where they interview wacky veterinarians about their outside interests. Dr. Brad Krohn (who has been bugging me to post this since it came out, be careful what you ask for!) was featured in the March 2007 issue, talking about his love of skateboarding. I’m going to heckle him here because I resent the indirect inference as one of his “group of aging friends” and I can’t remember the last time, if ever, that one of us has “longboarded around campus.” Ironically, they say he’s a sidewalk surfer, but nowadays the only actual sidewalks he skates are the ones that run up to the entrance of a skatepark. They used a somewhat weak three year old photo that I took of Dr. Brad at his suggestion, probably because it’s one of the few that didn’t have some old punk band graphics or other questionable logo that he would have had to explain countless times to his respected colleagues. The press at large is a little bit infatuated with old skate punks that grew up, got jobs, but still skate. You can read the profile on Veterinary Economics or see it here after the jump, because I’m not taking the scan of the page down until those deadbeats pay me for the photo usage. Dr Brad also made a recent appearance in GVK#18. We’ve been friends a long, long time. I kid him because I love him!

Ill Noize? Like the band from Decatau? Too weird man. I was driving home from the coast tonight thinking about the Didjits for some reason, and I remembered a show where the guys from Ill Noize were there, crashing into tables an people while they were dancing, and I remembered being pissed about it at the time. I was just thinking, what a stupid thing for me to get mad at. I have a cassette tape of that show recorded off a boom box.

He was in Caustic D. and I remember them playing with 7 Seconds, his drummer cut some chick’s ear off with the spurs on his boots. They played at my sister’s party too and then with GG Allin at the VFW, he had to use the same mic that GG violated during soundcheck. The kid must have a good immune system.

I see this photo and I know “the chicken and the cow don’t go together” But I am sure doctor Krohn can tell me why. According to the artical he has arthirits in the bone. Can I Get An A-Men

  • I got to talking to Dr. Brad at Sleestock. He is pretty much ripping at life and didn’t seem to have a problem spending some time diagnosing some practical hypothetical scenarios. Such as: “What if a moose was found on the side of the road with a badger attached at his nuts?” or “Are all dolphins gay?” You know, the regular stuff you would ask a vet. You’re boss Dr B.
