Brookings Weekend

Brookings Weekend

So a couple of weekends ago Dave Vieira, Pete Panagakos, Jeff Fryer, and myself set out for a little 3 day weekend trip to beautiful Brookings, Oregon. Our plan was to skate, drink some beer, and for me to shoot a machine gun in Eugene.

WTF is the Amazon? In the article I thought it was some speed metal band (that I wouldn’t know anything about). – you know, with the kids and their rock and/or Roll.

  • See…”Kilwag” is not an O.G. Oregon local…Didnt know about amazon?!?!? WTF…At your age your should have built it…Damn..

Yeah, transplant from Illinois in 1999. Ask me about street spots in Champaign Urbana, circa 1987 and I’ve got you covered.

  • Or you could have written: “I’m old and from Illinois, but what do I know.”

It’s pretty cool for nostalgia sake…Im just glad parks like Amazon and Derby are still around. They are still a part of skate history and really show how far park design has come since then. Amazon is fun!

  • i lived in eugene for 4-5 years. before churchill or any other eugene parks, the only free concrete park we had was amazon. there was always a good session going on back then. fun times. really.

  • We were there that day. Chris, owner of Coos Bay’s Concrete Pirate Skate Shop, and myself took a group of kids from Coos Bay to Brookings for a day at the park. Skippy was part of our group. You took some good pictures of him. We had a blast skating with everyone that was there.
