Check out this merch tied into the 1964 TV series Stingray from the UK. It was a Gerry Anderson production similar in style to Thunderbirds. Even though it was off the air in 1965 after 39 episodes, someone thought a skateboard with a Stingray graphic would make some money. There are other Stingray graphics/models from the 60’s and 70’s but they are not related to the TV show. There was however, another licensed Gerry Anderson Stingray board made in the 90’s. In the show, the Stingray was a nuclear-powered combat submarine used by the World Aquanaut Security Patrol to keep the oceans safe.
Here’s the original photos that caught my eye, courtesy of Darron Ward. That’s a 6 color screen print, which is surprising for the time period. Dig the single action trucks.

I found a really nice picture of a Stingray board at Attic City, but it was for an old listing that had been removed. Fortunately the good folks at Urban America sent me the originals.

Here’s an advert that originally appeared in at least one issue of the TV Century 21 comic. What issue? I have no idea, it’s next to impossible to track down. This one is cleaned up version of an image originally posted by David Griffith at Vintage toy Central. It’s interesting that they are calling it a scooter-skate and not a skateboard.
The folks at Anderson Entertainment were surprisingly kind enough to respond to my pestering for more information and photos, but unfortunately they did not have anything else to share outside of this photo of a skateboard in the display at a recent exhibit at the Museum of Brands in London. It belonged to a collector and has since been returned. See the very bottom of the display case.
Pester them I did, and they kept giving! They pointed me to an eBay auction selling a 1992 version of a Stingray skateboard. The seller is asking the equivalent of $386 for this in the UK. The seller wasn’t keen to cough up additional photos. That’s probably one of the bad guys Titan on the bottom of the deck, although in this rendition, it immediately made me think of Harvey Birdman’s Mentok the Mind Taker.

Check the awesome opening sequence for Stingray. This was the first British TV series filmed entirely in color, allegedly to gain traction in the USA.
IYKYK. The legendary Didjits….
