Two products for carrying your skateboard. One is cool in a silly way, as in “What if I made the cellphone holder on my car dashboard big enough to hold a skateboard?” That’s the JKT System carrier. Clippy, on the other hand, started off as just a clip you hung on the top loop of a backpack, but evolved into a skate tool that also doubles (triples?) as a cellphone stand for filming your, wait for it… clips. It’s a bit clunky, but it’s way more useful.
– Thanks to Adlan Farazi for the tips.
Let’s start with the unfortunately named JKT System from JKT Sport. It’s pretty much the same as the cellphone holders I have in my car. Inserting the skateboard into the bottom slot or clip causes the side brackets to close and grasp the skateboard. Once closed, you can rotate it left or right. Pulling up on the skateboard causes the opposite reaction, the side brackets expand allowing you to pull out the skateboard.

It definitely appears to work. It’s hard to get a sense of it from still pictures, but there are a few videos on the web site as well as their Instagram. The marketing is corny AF, but maybe it plays better in Spain.

So yeah, it works. Great proof of concept, but who is going to use it? There’s no way to buy one, but they do want to collect your contact info. The web site mentions Kickstarter but I couldn’t find any links, or a related project on Kickstarter, so maybe the answer to the previous question is nobody that wasn’t given one to film for the promo.
Clippy
And now for an idea that has a fighting chance. Clippy turns any backpack into one that holds a skateboard, contains a skateboard tool, and a iPhone stand. Of course, you could buy a skateboard specific backpack and put a skate tool and phone stand inside it. It’s a pretty standard skate tool, but it does include an axle threader. The truck brackets make it look a little awkward and bulky to use as skate tool, but it appears to be fully functional.
This idea might not make sense for everybody, but it defiantly makes sense for somebody, more so than the JKT System.

One thing that is a little off-putting is that most of the images on the web aite are 3D renders, probably going back to the days of the Kickstarter campaign.

I have no idea how much this contraption costs because you have to created account with Shop.app before you get to any of the pages that list prices. No thank you! The color options seem like they are geared towards little kids. Maybe there is a more somber solution once you get pst the gate.
Clippy is a clever tool. I could see it being use on skateboard-specific backpacks just as a combo skate tool and phone stand.
