Here’s two winter board sports products from the April/May 1979 issue of Skate magazine. Surprisingly, there were no ads for these products in this issue, just the product announcements. First up is a Snowboard from Elite. It’s 1979 and this is a far cry from what was right around the corner in the snowboarding industry, say 1982. This one looks like a Snurfer with the addition of a couple of very shallow surfboard-style fins on the bottom. Meanwhile, the Snow Skate is a set of 4 skis that strap on to your wheels.

Snow Skate turns skateboarding into a year round sport for those who live in or frequent winter sports areas. Snow Skate is two shoe-like skis that easily and quickly attach to the wheels of a skateboard by means of four straps. One ski attaches under the front wheels; the other under the rear. A package of Snow Skates contains two skis, four straps and four pins. The ski is composed of high-impact polystyrene; the straps are composed of Neoprene and the pins are non-corrosive metal. Snow Skate provides the same flex-ibility, ease of turning, and maneuverability of sidewalk skating. Snow Skating gives a lot of enjoyment to the entire family for an inexpensive investment in winter sports eguipment.
