Update On The New Crete’ In Da Gorge
Hood River Oregon’s small and dedicated group of young builders has accomplished allot of work in a short time. The team was headed by Mark Goddard of Benchmark Designs, but he recently departed and left in apparent puff over the design. I applaud the remaining crew for standing up for this communities local scene, hell, they skate it everyday and have serious pride in the outcome of this project.
UPDATE: I got a call (!) from Mark who informed me this was never a Benchmark project, he was never the boss, and he was just hired on as an employee. He didn’t leave on bad terms with anyone. It was one of those “agree to disagree” situations. Our apologies to Mark Goddard. – K.ed
Thart park just keeps getting better.
looks like fun! make sure you leave the tarp.
sick! cant wait to make the trek back up to the Hood
whats with the setback tranny in the small pocket?
is that staying that way? that’ll kill the carve lines through that pocket.
i cant imagine thats staying that way.
that set back look about the depth of some pool cope
Good to see the efforts and progress in HR, but yeah, that set back corner zone looks like a speed killer. it doesn’t make any sense really.
hood river? downhill….aaaaahh. TREE! one small pepsi please!
It looks like they might be putting pool coping in that corner and made an allowance for the amount of deck space needed by each block. That’s my guess.
Wally said they were planning to include several different coping styles.
will they be incorporating the broomstick or PVC style? or only…ya know?

That looks so badass.
FWIW, the set-back piece of deck in the shallow end is to accomodate a roll in which was/is required by the city.
Thanks for the edit Kilwag 🙂
Mark-
Sorry for the mis-communication on my part. I meant no dis-respect and am very grate-ful you took the time to help out the HR project. Please understand I was just stoned, trying to make a good story, did not mean it to be directed at your expense and I’m sorry for that. Dam web gets me in trouble every so often, just to remind me how careful one has to be when typing into a keyboard.

Thanks for clearing the air, Mike.
the set-back is now been finished in to one solid piece of pool coping with some good meaty bonk.
