Deathbox

Deathbox reborn as a still(born) life.

Are you in Holland? Do you care that before Deathbox was a dying Tumyeto brand, it was a U.K. company in the late 80’s that morphed into Flip? If so, go to the Deathbox 20th Anniversary Show at VIP International Art Gallery in Rotterdam, Holland. It’s probably going on right now as I type this. [Source: The Skateboard Mag]

  • I got a Rocker fire hydrant deck but I skated it to bits so only about 50% of the graphics are left and of course I had stickers and shit all over it

  • I have a Dossett Kneeling Jester in almost NOS barely used condition. I would be willing to sell

  • Ozbozz – yes I do still have it

  • dice, you still have that Mac??? wanna sell it by any chance? I grew up skating that deck and would love to skate it again!

  • I still have my complete deck to this day.

Its a a mac with the Hitler graphic, a indy on the back, gullwing on the front, only one rail left, some vision hurricanes!

  • OW GOFF WHERE ARE THOSE RE PRINTS????????

GAWD CALL URSELF A SKATE SHOP!!

    😀

  • I had a the hoodie with the big poison bottle graphic on the back it was dope, i wore that thing everyday, sure the graphics were a liittle sketch compared to Santa Cruz and Powell but that was part of the appeal.
Death Box were unique and to Uk skaters the teapot graphic was as iconic as the screaming hand. Biggup the revival!

  • fuckin yank

are we all talkin ’bout the knarly olskool deathbox or is there another? Where th’ fuck do i find any o’ that good shit? not relics but instrumental in me gettin back to my roots a couple a
    ‘ years ago.

  • Hello,

Can anybody tell me if the’re is something more known about the old deathbox reprints (for me the pete dossett with the pack of cigarettes)or some originals for sale?

    Thanks,

    Daan Holman

  • I heard from Sean Goff that there is going to be some re-prints…..

  • I’m thinking 11′ with 18″ of vert. My first grinds on that were pure ectasy… My little bruv was dropping in on that thing at 8 or 9…

Funnily enough a crappy mini ramp was built using some of the left over metal sheeting a few years back. More recently a ramp was built and painted ‘Morfa Red.’

  • Sideshow

” Morfa Ramp in Swansea, South Wales? Now that was a vert ramp

  • Tom,

Ever skate Morfa Ramp in Swansea, South Wales? Now that was a vert ramp…

  • I learn’t to skate on the Deatbox vert ramp in Banbury back in 1990.
I had the deathbox dossett joker board, man those graphics were dope.
We all want reissue’s of the deatbox merchandise!!!

you are clearly high and in need of a good pair of glasses. Seek help.

That’s funny, Flips has some generic decks but sometimes their artwork is cool. I always thought the old Deathbox stuff looked kind of crappy and cartoonish, almost like World Industries earlier stuff.

  • houseofneil

I meant generic in terms of graphics and shapes. No originality going on with the artwork at Flip at all.

    Killer team though.

My favorite was the Dossett “Mr. Punch” deck.

  • Flip is hardly ‘generic’ with the likes of Glifberg, Burnquist, Saari, Appleyard, Rowley and even Lance… They are cream of the crop…

But agreed Deathbox was amazing back in the day. Remember the Dosset Teapot deck? Don’t forget Sean Goff and Wurzel.

The original Deathbox was brilliant. Most of teh best UK skaters were on Deathbox, as were the top europeans. They had Pete Dossett, the British Tony Hawk. Deathbox had awesome graphics done by the legendary Pete “Mac” McEachren. The decks NEVER come up on ebay, and are highly coveted. It’s a real shame that it degenerated into such a generic company as Flip.

Correction – Legendary graphics by the legendary Graham ‘Mac’ McEachran
