Shaun White Skateboarding trailer

Here’s the official trailer for the forthcoming video game Shaun White Skateboarding.
There are some folks that think it’s going to be revolutionary, but I’m more of the mindset that developers are running out of evolutionary steps to make skateboarding video games different. Fortunately, they aren’t running out of ways to make exciting commercials. One interesting thing, it’s his first skateboarding game and he doesn’t even make an appearance in the trailer.

– Thanks to Eric Cherry for the tip.

I’ve never played a video game. Not ever. Just does not appeal to me. Wish I could do the stuff Shaun White does on a board though. He must see stuff in slow motion.

    • NEVER? Not even Asteroids? Space Invaders? Super Mario Brothers? Pong?

I know! Crazy huh! I don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to do when my kid gets older and wants to play these games. Well, the modern versions anyway.

  • I skated at Newberg when he was there back in 2000. He was ripping that park harder than anyone else there. He’s got skills, just not the type that most kids identify with, which is why he probably isn’t in the trailer. Regardless, the flying tomato is going to make some $$$$.

  • White is an impressive skater and has a head on his shoulders. Very weird that he’s not in the trailer…wtf?

  • dougdrill

    red white…blue

  • If it plays like his snowboard game then it will suck. People can say what they want about him but he is a damn fine skater and has been doing it before he could ride a snowboard. Oh and I’d watch him over Sheckler any-day

  • I dont own a game system or a skateboarding game. Just the real thing.
    Kirk out!

  • I just got Skate 3 and it didn’t really impress me as much as Skate 2 did (except being able to run over your online friends). Dont really see how this will bring anything to the plate. Tony Hawk and that plastic board was _supposed_ to be revolutionary as well. Grind Session, Thrasher: Skate and Destroy (PSX) and Skate or Die 2 (of course NES) all stood far ahead of any other game claiming.

anyway, when is Oregon Trifecta? I cant find any info on dates or anything, anyone know more then I do?

  • LOL! Shaun isn’t even in the trailer. WTF? You can’t get better than Skate.

  • That video reminds me of Portland. There are random DIY skate spots popping up all over town.

  • I think Thrasher summed it up best in one of their year end deals when they had “Trends That Still Don’t Sell” and Shaun White was listed.

    • walk into your nearest Target store and tell me that later.. first thing you walk into is his huge corner clothing line.

    why?
