Skate and Annoy Miscellaneous Reviews

Acrylic Keychains form Sticker Mule

When your skateboarding culture website is more about the merch than the content, you spend a lot of time checking out posts of ways to trick yourself into thinking you are going to be able to make money. One of those places I frequent is Sticker Mule, but not for their stickers, actually. I use Diesel Fuel Prints for Skate and Annoy. However, Sticker Mule frequently has promotional deals that allow you to test out small runs of a product that might otherwise be cost prohibitive or not really something you want a lot of, Something like keychains for example, so I had some (10) Skate and Annoy keychains made.

If you’re looking at these enlarged you might think they look kind of crappy, but that’s because they are still covered in the protective film. Before I saw the enclosed notice I was a little bit perturbed because they did in fact look like crap. Then I just felt dumb for not reading the notice sooner. As you can see in the first picture, they look fine. Below is what they look like before you peel off the film. The blemishes are actually part of the film, not the finished product.

One thing that almost caused me not to order at all is the fact the product page complete with video goes out of the way to not show you the back of the design, so you don’t know whether you’re going to see a reverse image on the back or what. Turns out you’ll see solid white, but with a curious bit of embossing on the back. You can definitely feel it, but it’s not super noticeable.

As for the overall quality… it’s about what you’d expect starting at $2 a piece. The edges are slightly raised and rough on both sides, and the plastic loop connecting the fob to the metal ring is definitely the weakest point. A visual and physical inspection doesn’t give me a lot of hope that it would last a long time. Bottom line, the overall quality is the live of a promotional giveaway and not something you’d want to try and sell to make money.
