bikerack

The bike rack at work

When I started here I noticed a bike rack with one lonely bike hanging from it. I brought a skateboard (cruiser) to work for use on breaks and lunch, and I decided to hang it in the rack. After a couple of weeks, the bike disappeared and another skateboard took it’s place. Another week or two went by and another showed up. Now there are quite a few hanging up. To be fair, I don’t think anyone is commuting to work on these, but they are being ridden. We are taking over!

Art fair

Artsy fartsy fair

It seems you can’t throw a stone at a hippie in a street fair without hitting an urban artist using old skateboards as a substitute for canvas. This was from my neighborhood last night. It looks like Central America, but it’s just Last Thursday on Alberta Street. Actually, this is mostly an excuse for testing out the WordPress iPhone app.

More than one S.O.B. in Baltimore

Looks like the civil lawsuit against the Baltimore cop who has anger management issues when it comes to skateboarders (and RC car enthusiasts…) has been tossed out of court again. I thought the damages they were seeking were ridiculous, but I still think this guy doesn’t serve or protect the best interests of the citizens of Baltimore, even though he has been back on the job for several months.

– Thanks to Doc Murdock for the tip.

tetris

Wackyboard Tetris

Viral promotion video from Freeboard, maybe indirectly. We’ve covered caster board hybrids before, but surprise surprise, Freeboard is still in business. The extra caster wheel makes it possible to ride sideways on the board if you want, making this Tetris tribute with neon head gear possible. On the one hand, it’s kind of cool. On the other, they aren’t doing much to help thier case. – Thanks to Tim for the tip.
