Skateboard Gang

I couldn’t bid on this, too poor. It’s an old auction. The guy was supposed to email me some more high-res photos, but I guess he had better things to do than take pictures of old skateboard toys for people who didn’t even bid on his auctions. But man, if I had the money… I think these were a series of figures in the 80’s that were kids on skateboards running into stop signs and garbage cans. Statute of limitations

I’m pretty sure the statute of limitations has expired on this crime. I’m riding a pink Hosoi hammerhead that was such a p.o.s. that it was probably a bootleg, so that ought to put it into perspective. I don’t remember who took these pics, Maybe it was House of Neil, but it more likely was a college roommate becasue I have a distinct memory of this being taken outside one of the campus mail rooms by some of the dorms at the University of Illinois- go Triad! This would have been shortly before I got kicked out, errrr, uh dropped out of college. Hey, it’s only campus police. The jokes on you guys, because you let me back in, and I graduated.

Radio Skateboard

The audio interviews are flying. The “brain” behind Bacon Skateboards has a radio show on pdx.fm. He’s on the internet air live on Thursdays at 2pm Pacific time. He’s got five shows under his belt, most of the guests have something to do with skateboarding. He’s had George Cutright the current team manger from Adidas, and our own Mark Conahan. The interviews are only a half hour and are a good listen even if you have no idea who the person is. I’m working my way backwards through them. I made it to Jeremy Robert Johnson, which is a good one. I’m going to check out some of his books. The point is… GVK interviewed live today at 2pm.
