Grindline is set to work on a new design for a public skatepark in Cleveland Ohio. There’s a public forum today, Wed. April 28th at Speakeasy, (under Beir Markt) on 1948 West 25th Cleveland, OH. Public Square Group has the lowdown, and it looks like the local two-wheeled community is gearing up to get their pegs in the door. F-Word. I can’t believe ESPN pays people to write about BMX and Skateboarding. How did I miss that job posting?
My apologies to Eugene skaters closer to home here, I slipped up on posting about the event last weekend.
– Thanks to Matt Jamison for the tip.
Butch Patrick as Eddie Munster. Now I have to search out a DVD of the Munsters to look for a skateboarding episode. Sounds like a job for Scott Starr. Enlarge-o-rama.
The Wheelbone is blowing up. I suppose if you are going to go with the training equipment method, this weird rubber device that looks like a marital aid makes more sense than a special set of soft trucks. $20 gets you a sort of board condom that is ribbed for her pleasure. And speaking of marital aids, check out how the logo throbs on the web site. It’s very lewd, yet strangely enticing. Go ahead, it’s OK to experiment while you’re in college. Are you feeling vaguely confused? It might have something to do this inexplicably strange boardslide shot. Seriously. Check out the throbbing Wheelbone logo.

Here’s a quick time lapse video of a modular vert ramp being assembled and ridden for an EA Skate 3 commercial shoot.

Jack Smith of the Skateboarder’s Journal and Cuppa Stoke is running for Morro Bay, California City Council. He’s not accepting direct contributions, but you can purchase a skateboard themed campaign t-shirt for $15, which includes delivery in San Luis Obispo county, otherwise it’s another $5. All you need to do is send him a payment via paypal (jack@theskateboardersjournal.com) or mail a check to: Jack Smith 415 Acacia Morro Bay, CA 93442. Check out his campaign web site, Facebook page and Twitter account. I need to check out this Twitter thing, as soon as I figure out hot to get the Lycos running. Time to update my Geopages account.
Thrasher shirts for sale in the teenybopper girls store at the mall? We’re not talking Hot Topic, although that would make more sense. This is Forever 21. Two things I should point out, the shirt does not actually appear on the front page of the web site, this is a doctored image. The Thrasher shirt actually appears in their “Men’s” section of Forever 21, called 21Men, which is coincidentally the name of the last years Best Picture winner at the (warning, NSFW) GAYVN awards. Also of interest, price of the shirt is the same as would be if that design were available for sale at Thrasher. I would scream “sell out!” were it not for the fact that you will soon be seeing Skate and Annoy fashions at Torrid. I like that shirt.
– I forgot to thank Jordan Harris for the tip.
This is the cover of the audio CD version of Michael J. Fox’s book titled A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future.
Twists and Turns and Lessons Learned. I guess it’s a nod to the fact that his most memorable role was Marty McFly. Back to the Future still gets credit for the skateboard boom in the 80’s.
