The Best: X-Caliber trucks
X-Caliber trucks are the best in 1975, even if they do look a little chintzy by today’s standards. Check out those case hardened race bearings in all their loose bearing glory. The parent company is South Bay Recreational Products, which is not related to Steve’s South Bay Sporting Goods, even though they are in the same town. Because sporting goods are different than recreational products.
THE BEST
X-Caliber Skateboard trucks are the best for several important reasons:
- Case-hardened axles, race nuts. We go to the extra trouble and expense to insure the strength of these vital components.
- Hangers and plates are heat-treated aluminum alloy for strength under the most demanding stress conditions.
- Super-finethread on all threaded components for additional strength and safety.
All components of the X-Caliber truck are the best.

Do you have the old Excalibur trucks with three little coil springs each. I think it was in 1980 and the actual board said Wayne Brown on the top surface but once again the trucks for Excalibur three individual coil springs on each truck: does that sound correct…
Once again it was beautiful because as you skate you can actually gain speed by bouncing slightly and becoming one with the board the trucks were awesome and the whole board was pretty expensive: I believe it was 170 something dollars which was quite a bit for 40 years ago
