Team Pain in Tampa
Public meeting to unveil and discuss the proposed design for a new skatepark in Tampa, Florida, to be built by Florida’s own Team Pain. The meeting will be held October 8th, at SPOT.
Bradenton Florida by Team Pain
Bradenton, Florida has a relatively new Team Pain skatepark on the riverwalk. It’s mostly waist high or under, with the exception of a 10ft or so vert wall on one end of the park and a large bowl on the opposite. The park is long and narrow, dissected in the middle by an overhead highway bridge that crosses the river. As with Louisville, KY, it’s more or less across the street from the hospital. I’m not sure if they do that on purpose or not. It’s on a stretch of land that would otherwise most likely be vacant, which means plenty of room for expansion! The non-skating locals I spoke with are very pleased with it, and consider it a destination worth hanging out at just to watch and enjoy the location. More photos and a video skate through after the jump.
Brandon Park
More pictures of Brandon Park in Hillsborough county, Florida. Photos an striking concrete patterns by Team Pain, but I bet you already knew that…
Apollo Beach
Another new one from Team Pain, this time in Apollo Beach, Florida. Looks like the new stains are becoming a hallmark of this crew. Pics and video after the jump.
Arvada Colorado pics
Forgot to post these actually, from the Team Pain park in Arvada, Colorado. Photos courtesy of COSkate.com. A nice video montage too, after the jump.
Brandon, Florida
Here’s some pics of a soon to open Team Pain park in Brandon, Florida, on the outskirts of Tampa. Brandon is home to a few names you might have heard of, like Mike Frazier, and Anthony Furlong. None of these guys are in the pictures though. Ha. Despite the typical Florida high water table issue, they managed to get what looks like a really nice bowl (9″9′ Deep, 6″ shallow) in addition to the more street plaza-esque terrain. There’s colored concrete and a public arts grant to add some more color at a later date. The park is on track for a soft opening in March, so these guys must be doing some quality control.
New park will attract old cliches
The NBC affiliate 9 News in Denver recently aired a piece on the impending opening of the new Arvada skatepark. The emphasis of the spot, apparently shot on the set of Masterpiece Theater (see photo), is on the “construction workers” that built the park, a crew that would go entirely unnamed were it not for an appropriately placed company logo on a hoody. I know these guys are technically construction workers, but it seems like a misnomer. It’s worth watching though, and there’s even a good laugh. What’s the name of their video segment? Why it’s “New park will attract skaters to Arvada.” I dunno… seems a little far fetched. Arvada is a Team Pain skatepark. Team Pain is actually a finalist in a The World of Concrete “Crews that Rock” contest. I don’t know what they get if they win, but if you vote you become eligible to win an iPad 2. Make sure to scroll down to get to the Team Pain listing, the page is kind of long.
Please snake me.
These pictures of the Team Pain park in Arvada, Colorado are already a couple weeks old. Hell, it might even be done by now. Snake runs please me.
Arvada, Colorado already in progress
It’s been nine months since I posted the preliminary plans for this regional park in Arvada, Colorado and now we’ve got some snake run construction photos courtesy of Team Pain.
Northglenn, Colorado skatepark
Another Team Pain project in Colorado. They might as well move there, they pretty much own that state as far as skateparks go. This one is in Northglenn.
