Skate Out is a super 8 film circa 1978. It’s got everything: street, skateparks, downhill and freestyle. I was 11 years old in 1978 and was skating a little and going to the parks with my friends. This is the first part of the a super-8 movie I made. These guys went on to form the foundation of Nor Cal skating but when this was shot, we were all just kids. Weirdo Skateboards presents Skate the Lake 2012 LCRSP – Lake Cunningham Regional Skatepark, and WEIRDO Skateboards continue to “Come In Hot” this Summer, when our yearly Skate The Lake Contest Series, hits Part 2 for yet another day of summer madness. WHEN: The Second and Final Date is Saturday August 11th: WHY: Because we have lost our collective minds, ha ha just kidding. We will be hitting up the Full Pipe in all it’s glory for an Open Contest, also a good old fashioned Highest in Pipe, topped off with a Best Trick in the Cradle/Funnel Bowl.

Zarosh Eggleston is busy building his own little skatopia called Cachagua Land on hill top in California. Helping to fund it along the way, hand screened Platipuss skateboards from the multitalented artist himself. I saw this DIY concrete extravaganza in a video before. I can’t recall what it was in though, maybe Strange Notes? Spend some time trolling around Platipuss (sic), there’s a lot of interesting goings on going on over there. Sorry for the last minute nature of the post. Today is the first annual Man Am Shred Fest at 6 Twenty One Skateshop in Livermore, Ca. This one should be interesting to say the very least, I think it’s gonna be like Comedy Central’s “Man Show” only with a Skateboard Contest in the middle of it…yow The Date is this Saturday (June 5th) The contest will feature: Live Music by the WHISKEY AVENGERS, Beer, Elaborate Fanfare, All Forms of Complete Foolishness, and of course Skateboarding up the Wazoo! The contest begins at 5 pm and will be held at the 6 Twenty One Skateshop in Livermore CA on their indoor half pipe ramp. The event is for 21 years of age or over only, so, sorry youngsters, this one’s for the crusties… Entry to the event is $20 dollars, which includes Contest Entry Fee as well as Ensuing Soirée Age Divisions as follows: 21-30 31-40 41-Death (Talk about a chance for all you old bastards to shine, YIKES.) Best idea ever. Some gently used decks were repurposed into flyers for the band Hot Lunch. Eric Shea explained how it all went down. My pal Bart unloaded a grip of decks that he didn’t want any more for me give to the neighborhood kids at Potrero Del Sol skatepark here in SF – the ones who needed boards. And I did give away like four of them but out of the four only one kid said “thanks” (and that was because his sister made him say it). The other kids just yelled at me and demanded that I give them more free things. So I thought maybe it would be better to do something different with the remaining decks. I cut a stencil for my band’s next show and spray painted our name and the gig info on the griptape. Then I went around the Mission at night with a drill and some wood screws, putting them up around various wooden telephone poles ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) After each deck was up for a day and a night, I’d post a pic on various forums telling people to go find ’em and take…
