Sony Hawk
Tony Hawk for the the Sony Action Cam, otherwise known as a Go Pro camera with an awkward form function. The promo video on loop in the display features Tony Hawk and Lizzie Armanto, selfie sticks and and even a bracket for mounting it under a skateboard. I should have got a screen cap of that bracket, as it looks like there is no skateboard specific bracket, but the video did briefly show a camera snapping into a bracket in front of the rear truck. I ‘d like to see how the made it work with their universal bracket. “Retired” sports figures are still used to sell products, but Tony’s the only one who can still perform up to the standards that made him famous in the first place. He’s not standing around with a bottle of talcum powder like Shaq.
Bee Radical
Vodaphone bus stop advert with bees on a mini ramp was spotted while site seeing in the UK, by a Yank no less. UK readers, where’s the love? – Thanks to Adam Wallingford for the pics.
Nokia push
Nokia Push… really hard to tell from the web site what the hell they are actually talking about. They keep talking about hacks in a proprietary context that must only maker sense if you already own the phone. They’ve got two “prototypes” for hacks, one of which looks like it makes use of motion sensing capabilities in the phone in order to score points in a game while actually skateboarding. It’s a weak execution of a not so new concept, but I give them this, the commercial is highly reminiscent of the Paper Boy arcade game and amusing to watch. [Source: Skatecuriosidade]
Bone Phone head
TuneBug Shake is the name of this modern day adaptation of the Bone Fone. You plug this thing into your iPod, and then attach it to back of your helmet where it vibrates sound through the helmet while still allowing you to hear what is going on in your surroundings, at least until the first time you wilson and shatter $120 worth of plastic and circuitry on the concrete. $120?
