SOTW 9-5-11: Jeff Taylor
This week’s Shot of the Week is a Micah Breshears photo of Jeff Taylor taken at John’s Bowl in Albany Oregon. Check out the Shot of the Week.
SOTW 6-16-11: Fire
This weekend marked the two year anniversary of Marks bowl pour. Rich Burton was on hand to document the hot, hot action. On the left, Mark’s daughter who has apparently taken up some sort of dangerous new hobby. Check out this week’s Shot of the Week or see the rest of the photos from the session at Earth Patrol Media.
Time Lapse Theater: OMSA Bowl
Mixing it up a little in Time Lapse Theater. This week we have the factory bowl wooden pool replica courtesy of Dietches at OMSA. Somewhere in Germany.
Platypus and Cachagua Land
Zarosh Eggleston is busy building his own little skatopia called Cachagua Land on hill top in California. Helping to fund it along the way, hand screened Platipuss skateboards from the multitalented artist himself. I saw this DIY concrete extravaganza in a video before. I can’t recall what it was in though, maybe Strange Notes? Spend some time trolling around Platipuss (sic), there’s a lot of interesting goings on going on over there. Zarosh accepts donations for concrete.A big enough donation will net you a limited edition t-shirt or deck. Of course you can buy one one of the others outright too. Check out his screen rig up top. I’d love to pick his brain on that. That, and why he strayed from the traditional spelling of Platypus. – Thanks to Eric Shea for the tip.
SOTW 9-28-09: Interior decorating
This week’s shot of the week is from Steve Aycock, AKA Scphotog. This is Jon Horne in a house in Charleston, South Carolina. I’ve seen a lot of indoor ramps over the years, but nothing quite compares to this bowled in living room. I especially like the diving board painted in persepctive on the back wall. Steve has an interview with the owner in the works. Look for it on S&A in the near future. In the meantime, check out the shot of the week.
Tribute = Bootleg
R.E.load Bags had a line of messenger bags called the 80’s skate series that was essentially bootlegs of famous skateboard graphics. The product description had said they were a tribute, but the “Hammerhead” bag is pretty much the only one that wouldn’t be considered copyright infringement. Fortunately, a friend of Neil Blender’s saw them and tipped him off. The bags were removed from the web site almost immediately. They look totally cool, they should have licensed them instead of just ripping them off. [Source: Freakbeatfuzz]
MC’s Bowl Pour Extravaganza
I’ve been over there a couple times since the day of the pour, and I’m still in awe. So here’s way too many pictures of the bowl pour in Portland, Oregon. Believe me, I had to restrain myself from putting up more, but this is something most skatepark riders don’t get a chance to witness. The guys on the crew were craftsmen. I was blown away by what they accomplished. Check it out. UPDATE: If you’re still not sick of it, EPM has another large gallery.
Organic skate stoppers
Here’s a couple photos from the camera phone of Jason Schomaker. It’s a 100% naturally occurring, totally organic skate stopper, and it’s not what you think. Find out what it is after the jump.
That’s a lot of burritos
It looks like Buck Lasek has California Skateparks building him a big old bowl in on his property in Encinitas, California. You can check out some more pictures and video at the Vans web site. It looks… big, but I think this private bowl will have more character. Characters, if you count GVK. -Thanks to Mac for the tip. [Source: Concrete Disciples]
