Skateboarder Dies Trying to Disarm Domestic Terrorist
That’s the story. Anthony Huber died trying to disarm Kyle Rittenhouse at a BLM protest. Kyle shot 3 people and killed 2. He is a domestic terrorist. Comments will be moderated heavily on this pos, bootlickers and racists need not apply. Photos: Left: Tayfun Coskun/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images | Right Chicago Sun Times.
Tony Hawk Unmasked on The Masked Singer
Tony Hawk performed on the The Masked Singer as the Elephant. Despite sticking to his 80’s roots, singing Friday I’m In Love by the Cure, he lost the round and was unmasked. The takeaway from this is the fact that it’s 2020 and we’re still making additions to Gratuitous Tony Hawk appearances. Looks like he enjoyed himself.
Dreamland Goes Rogue
Rogue Beers out of Newport Oregon has teamed up with Dreamland Skateparks to produce a beer and a skateboard. A portion of the proceeds go to “building skateparks around the world,” which could mean anything, but the important thing is, beer, and Dreamland Skateparks. [Source: Dreamland Skateparks]
Gator Granted Parole, DA will Appeal Decision
The parole board has tentatively grantees Mark “Gator” Rogowski parole based on a combination of circumstances including his remorse, completion fovea various rehabilitation programs, and a new law affecting offenders under the age of 26, related to brain development studies. He has not been released yet. The board has 120 days to make the decision final, and the DA plans to appeal the decision. Gator is currently 53 years old, and plans to live with his brother while working as a paralegal clerk. More information can be found at ABC 10 News San Diego. He’s been in prison for about 25 years. Is he rehabilitated? Does he deserve another chance? Meanwhile, Vision still sells a Gator deck… – Thanks to Mark Sellman for the tip.
Scumbag Thieves Targeting Portland Skateshops
A 3 man crew of hardcore assholes is targeting Portland skate shops. The jackasses pulled 3 smash and grabs in the past couple of weeks. The losers targeted Cal Skates Skateboards, Commonwealth Skateboarding, and most recently, Smart Collective. These are small business owners who are being hit. Someone in the greater Portland Metro area, Oregon, or Washington knows who these lowlifes are. Turn them in. If you are near any of the affected shops, consider dropping in and making purchase to support them.

It’s a Pink Panther jumbo post! – Thanks to Cool Steve for 99% of this.
Glow in the dark art park. Beautiful and Wasteful.
This is the third glow in the dark park that I’m aware of, and the second one by Korean artist Koo Jeong A. Incredibly, this concrete park appears to be a temporary installation at the Triennale Milano in Italy. What happens to it after the exhibit runs its course from 26th of November 2019 to the 15th of February 2020? It probably ends up in landfill. I love art. I have a degree in art. I love skateboarding too. But, for fucks sake, it’s 2019. Stop building temporary, disposable concrete skateparks! This installation was poured byControl Z, but it’s not their fault. The event is in conjunction with something called the Academy of Skateboarding, which near as I can tell, is a skate school for kids created specifically for this exhibit. It’s tough o tell, there are all sorts of Academies of Skateboarding on the web, but the Italian translation turns up a curiously titled link: “Academy of Skateboarding featuring bastard.” Maybe I’ve got this all wrong, after all, my Italian is… non-existent. If you can fill in some details, please leave them in the comments and I’ll add it to the main post.
Whatzit Man
These are movie posters from the 1992 movie Encino Man, or “California Man” as they called it in France. I’m not sure what the Thai translation is. I’m not sure if Brenden Frazier actually rides a skateboard in the movie, and I’m not about to go watch it and find out. A quick search for Pauly Shore on a skateboard turns up one animated gif that may be from the movie, who knows. Quality stuff right here on Skate and Annoy. I kid you not. – Thanks to Claude Queyrel for the tip.
Your own, personal, Tony Hawk cameo.
You can now pay to have various levels of “celebrities” record personalized video messages for you. Amongst other personalities like Pee Wee Herman (!!), there are currently 52 skateboarders to chose from, some famous, some not-so-famous. The pay scale is sliding and serves as a barometer for how popular (or how bored) these personalities are. Bucky Lasek for only $15??? Even the Lizard King is up to $25. Guys like Jason Jesse are going for $25, while a puffy Bam Margera can be rented for $65. Was little surprised to see Richie Jackson on there at all, but I guess it’s a quick $50 for him that can come in handy at the local thrift store. Skate and Annoy really needs personalized video from Tony Hawk saying how much this site sucks. Now accepting donations…
Again with the Ski Skate…
It’s only been about 9 years since I first became aware of the Ski Skate, and now at long last, I can add a second post on this ancient relic. Check out this promotional flyer from the toy company that made it. I say toy company, but they seemed to split their product line into the categories of subpar sports-training and unofficial Star Wars glom-on products like the Force Beam and the Force Missile. One is essentially a light saber, and the other is a pneumatically launched rocket that looks vaguely like a TIE Fighter with “The Force” grafted onto the product name. If they love skiing, skateboarding and surfing, they’ll love the Ski Skate™! Trust them, they are from LA.
