Data Dance
The description is pretentious, and even though it looks fitting, there’s absolutely no Devo in the soundtrack. You’ll never get the next 3 minutes and 34 seconds back. I like a lot of weird, pointless stuff, but this? Well, you’ve been warned.
Animal Vegetable Mineral Commonwealth

Hales Yeah!
Considering the fact that 90% of voting Oregonians have probably already voted by mail, this very last minute “Official Skate and Annoy Endorsement” of Portland mayoral candidate Charlie Hales is pretty pointless, but here it is for all the procrastinating undecided voters.Charlie was instrumental behind legalizing skateboarding on the streets of Portland. On his own Facebook page he gets hassled for not wearing a helmet in this photo. [Source: Cal Skate via Facebook]
At long last
Skateboards made from laminated, recycled skateboards. They probably aren’t going to win any “pop” contests, but how can you argue against this one? It’s faultless. Iris Skateboards are made by George Rocha, who among other things worked on the Dreamland crew for a while. [Source: ESPN] – Thanks to Matthijs for the tip.
R.I.P. Reggie
Reggie Destin, killed by a drunk driver while skateboarding in a bike lane. He died from his injuries last Saturday. I didn’t know him personally, but I knew Push, and I hail from Chicago (ages ago) so I feel for you Chicago. There’s a fund set up to help his family pay for his medical expenses.
Burnside Blank Slate
Grover stopped by Burnside earlier today (Tuesday) and got some shots of Jay Meer and another preparing Burnside for it’s 22nd anniversary Halloween debut. I wonder if he’s down there painting via generators now. GPK after the jump. That’s Grover’s Picture Korner.
Powell Street benefit
Powell Street skatepark benefit in Portland. Neighborly forces are mobilizing. Plan B is the venue, Skate rock and skate vids are the plan. Shrunken Heads is the sponsor. Portland’s skatepark system has definitely stalled, gone into hibernation even, but it seems that we’re gearing up for the second great push.
