Triefecta Quick Pics – Masters 2nd Place at Pier Park
MAsters Division 2nd Place: Steve Alba. This was not a lien -to -tale but the end of a long grind with a nose grab that he tweaked before reentry.
2007 Oregon Trifecta – Pier Park results
Pro results: 1st place: Rune Glifberg. 2nd place: Sergie Ventura. 3rd place: Benji Galloway. Masters: 1st place: Glen Charnoski. 2nd: Steve Alba. 3rd place: Buck Smith. Ladies: 1st place: Julie Kindstrom. 2nd: Jessica Starkweather. 3rd place Holly Lyons. Local Shane Bell (who placed 15th overall) was the second person to make it over the door today, and third person ever! The first two were pros, by the way. (Peter Hewitt months ago and Steve Alba during the Trifecta Grand Masters earlier in the day – C ed) He made his backside, and pulled it off a couple times today, twice in a row even. Rune Glifberg was the third person to make it over the door Saturday. He made it a handful of times as well, both front side and backside. Benji Galloway also made it over, backside as well. I got this one posted an hour earlier tonight. I even took time off to put my kid to bed, eat dinner with my wife and watch part of a movie. That’s right. I’m a family man.
Triefecta Quick Pics – Duane Peters
Taking a quick break from the Trifecta to post a couple of pics. Duane Peters was totally living up to the “Master of Disaster” title, it’s fun to watch that guy ride when he’s on his game.
Triefecta Quick Pics – Salba over the door
Except this isn’t the one that he made. Bryce got it though.
2007 Oregon Trifecta – Lincoln City results
Pro: 1st place: Rune Glifberg. 2nd place: Benji Galloway. 3rd place: Mark Scott Masters: 1st place: Glen Charnoski. 2nd: Buck Smith. 3rd place Pat Ngoho. Ladies: Sorry gals. I couldn’t remember the names when I got home. I’ll find out tomorrow. I got these posted four minutes before midnight. Not bad.
It’s On. Trifecta Buzz.
We’re looking forward to this year’s Oregon Trifecta, even if it isn’t all in Oregon this year. In fact, I’m getting ready to head out to Lincoln City within the hour. I’m excited now, but I’m sure I’ll be sick of it by Sunday. One thing that is going to make this year’s event even more interesting is the change of venue for Saturday and Sunday. This year we’ll be at Pier Park and Battleground Washington, which should definitely help breathe some life into the series. Until then, you can relive last years stops at Lincoln City, West Linn, and Newberg.
German tradeshow action
The Mags We Read is actually on display at a German “skateboarding lifestyle” trade show called Bright. Besides having a logo that is highly suggestive of Transworld Skateboarding, Bright has a crazy ramp setup in a courtyard of the exhibit building. Skateboard Fieber has coverage through Faux Ami. That’s right. Skateboard Fever and Fake Friend. I don’t get it either. Does ASR ever build cool skate structures like this? I think all they have are girls in bikinis.
Oregon Pre-fecta
As you know, skaters have been trickling into Oregon and hitting the parks in preparation for the 2007 Trifecta. Earth Patrol Media has a collection of shots from the Pre-fecta to get you in the mood. One in particular is a great shot.
Oui? Non. Lui.
While browsing through coverage of The Mags We Read from the previous post, I noticed a skateboard on the cover of an old French “gentleman’s magazine” called Lui that, err, uhm, intrigued me. A little research on the internet pulled down not one, but two covers of Lui from 1977 and 1978 that featured skateboards as props.
