Are you ready to get Duffed?

It’s Matthijs week on Skate and Annoy. remember Bud Man on a skateboard? Well the only reason you’re not looking at a picture of this on me (or my wife) is because it’s a damned small size. Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem. Buy it now for $45

Milo Nuggets

Checking in again on Mexican chocolate food packaging. Nestle’s Milo Nuggets as seen in a Long Island bakery that also sells hispanic foods. While trying to find out more about Milo Nuggets I learned that Nestle uses Milo on a hundred different products, from candy bars to cereal. I also found a second skateboard packaging option. – Thanks to Doug for the the pic.

Portland Timbers vs Canadian Maple

May 15th was free skateboard day at the PGE park. The first 2000 people to enter the Portland Timbers game vs. St Louis got a free Portland Timbers skateboard. I didn’t even find out about it until now. I’m bummed on a few levels. Bummed I didn’t know about it in advance, bummed I didn’t get a skateboard, and bummed I wasn’t the supplier. 2,000 skateboards is an expensive promotion, even if you were to buy them from China. It would take a company like, Oh , I don’t know, Cold War, a good six years to sell that many decks. I didn’t think it was legit, but it is up on the Portland Timbers Facebook page. The top graphic is the tip off that the designer probably didn’t skate. Anybody know what’s going on with the rumor that Portland might get a Major League Soccer team? Remember the episode of the Simpsons where they joked that it made actually made a town less desirable? Interesting cross sport marketing. I was going to link to a picture of a frisbee with a skateboarder on it, but either I never posted it or I can’t find it. – Thanks to Greg…

eBay Watch: April 2010

Well, despite what I said last month, I was able to pull together a full and complete BayWatch for April 2010. It was a tough month though. I’m assuming lots of people owed on their taxes in April because almost all of the big-ticket decks available went unsold. Only a few decks went for over a thousand. Actually, I don’t think I’ve seen so many decks go unsold with no bids in a single month before. Lots of decks were terribly overvalued with ludicrous starting bids, so there was no action on those. It did make for an interesting month though because I had to dig deeper than usual, and I unearthed some stuff that normally might not have made it in. Hopefully you’ll enjoy looking at what I found. And not to worry, from what I’ve seen so far May looks to be a return to normalcy with lots of interesting decks going off for normal prices. I’m excited about some of the stuff in May already.

Stacked

Not the best picture to show you, but these riser pads are about three inches tall. It’s a result of the quick release lever for the scooter handle. If you see your friends around the corner you can stash the handle in the bushes. This thing spent some time in the rain so I got busted when I couldn’t get it to release. Now I have to hang out with the massive scooter posse that frequents the Battle Ground, Washington skatepark. Seriously, it’s like Florida over there. The scooter kids are teenagers and they have no shame.

Steven Reeves has a video premiere this Friday at Plan B. I haven’t seen anyhting since Bailgun, but that was 2008 (!) I’m sure he hasn’t been dormant since then, aside from appearing on Calling on Colin. Should be good.

Sponsor Luv: Merde Skateboards

Welcoming Merde Skateboards to the list of beloved sponsors with this video called Uber. It’s a video. It’s a winter time video that started back in August ’09. Everyone’s skating, except for Tyler since we didn’t have any footage because Carlos taped over his stuff. Oh, well. It has Stevie Wonder. He’s singing a remake of a Beattle’s song. I never really got into the Beattles a whole lot. They’re good, but Stevie is rad. He’s from Michigan. Rensberry is from Michigan. They never called Stevie “Doctor Fantastic”, but they did call him “Little Stevie”. He got on Motown when he was like 12. That’s like getting on Girl when your 15…good luck. Stevie Wonder is the best. PERIOD.

Random Swedish wall ride

Or not. It seems like I’ve seen this terrain before, I’m thinking France, but I’m not certain. In the still it looks super steep, but the motion of the rider looks smooth. Look for it about 50 seconds into this video review of the 2011 Volvo C30, as seen on AutoWeek.com. – Thanks to Freakbeatfuzz for the tip.
