Steve Gump Oregon contest photos

Gumpfecta 2009

Trifecta is a horse race betting scheme where you try to choose the winners in three races. The equivalent expression for two races is exacta which sounds much better than the bastardized Bifecta which I freely admit is how I first described it. Speaking of Oregon Exacta photos, Steve Gump has a couple of galleries up from the Tigard and Pier Park contests last week.

Oregon Trifecta coverage. Tigard day one.

Alright already. Here’s day one of Skate and Annoy’s Oregon Trifecat Tigard coverage. That’s right. Two days worth of photos, not because they are that great, but because (regular readers chime in here…) I can’t edit myself. That’s Steve Reeves above, he doesn’t care what Creature thinks. Check out the Oregon Trifecta Tigard coverage.

They filled the Rose Garden with Mountain Dew, now it's called the Dew Garden. Snorkels are an extra $5 at the door.

Brawndo’s got electrolytes

Portland’s sports arena is now called the Dew Garden. Snorkels are an extra $5 at the door. Unaware of what year it was, Dr. Brad and Grover wandered into the Dew Tour desperate for help. But the English language had deteriorated into a hybrid of hillbilly, valleygirl, inner-city slang and various grunts. Dr. Brad was able to understand them, but when he spoke in an ordinary voice he sounded pompous and faggy to them.

Trifecta Live Webcast on GO211

GO211.com is doing a live webcast at the Trifecta. Coverage should start at around 12:00 Pacific Standard, according to their man on the scene Mike Estes. You can catch it on their Oregon Trifecta 2009 page. GO211 wins the award for most un-targeted advertising. I got interstitial video ads for dishwashing soap and the U.S. Army before I could watch the Trifecta teaser. On a side note, I’ve heard multiple tales of people heading out to Lincoln City only to find a crappy sign that says “Trifecta Cancelled.” Nice. See ya there! First person to spot Kilwag in the webcast and leave a comment here with what I’m wearing will get a free T-shirt.

packy

The Trifecta tours

This is a shot of Packy shortly before he started making his way up here for the Trifecta. In fact the Addikt Skateboards team is doing a little tour on their way up here. I met Packy some five years ago when he showed up out of nowhere (from the east coast actually) to enter the Reedsport Loop contest. He was unknown to any of the Oregonians, and he proceeded to surprise the hell out of everyone by throwing multiple loops into his practice runs. Then Skreech showed up and started looping on basically every run. It was overwhelming. Funny thing is, both of these guys made Geth Noble step up to the plate and eventually out loop them all to wint the contest. Actually, Skreech had the high number for the day, but he overdid it and had to drop out of the actual contest. Both Skreech and Packy are on Addikt now, and Packy is still getting upside down. Check it out after the jump.
