More skate furniture
I’ve seen loads of skate furniture before, some of it practical, some of it not, some elegant and some crude. This miniature picnic table is designed for little kids obviously, and it’s probably the one that is the least forced at of all of them. You can’t actually but the tables either, but you can buy some really nice looking plans on Etsy for $15, which looks ilk it might be more than the cost of raw materials! And as well designed illustration-wise as the plans are, the jig is pretty much up once you look at the pictures. My kids are still just small enough that they might get some use out of this, so I’m thinking about giving it a shot. Although I’m concerned about spillage factor with open cups on an uneven surface. Still, it looks cute. Err, I mean cool. – Thanks to John Aguilar for the tip.
Win an Element Skate Legends iPhone Case
Ha! We’ve got two Element cases from the Skate Legends series to be given away to two randomly chosen comment authors. Up for grabs are one each of the Formula 4 models and the Vapor Comp models. Leave a comment to be entered. Multiple comments won’t stack the odds in your favor and the prizes will be ship directly from the manufacturer, or more likely, their publicity company. I know all you Android users are going to cry foul, but we don’t care, so stuff your sorries in a sack. Also, this contest is open to goofy foot riders only. Contest ends at midnight April 22nd. The images above are just for illustration. I’m sure they’d be willing to let you pick a design.
When one cease and desist isn’t enough
If you’re going to bootleg someone’s graphics, why not rip off two companies at the same time? In this case, a later era Rob Roskopp and Sims Screamer second generation, which looks like it was taken from the band the Screamers in the first place. Actually, I think the second generation Sims Screamer was totally different. This might just be an appropriation of the band’s graphic. Where do you get one of these? A French version of Craig’s List? Try Leboncoin.fr. – Thanks again to Jerome, (the French Matthijs)
It’s full of Adjectives
$120 bucks will get you a Snap foldable skateboard that looks like a Tony Hawk Ride video game controller. It’s not the first time we’ve seen the concept, but maybe the first time it’s actually being somewhat mass produced. It is just now on the market and really awesome! It is alluring, revolutionary, unparalleled and a new idea! It is foldable, invincible, affordable, cool and saves money! So we know there is no way these guys are going out of business, so there’s absolutely no need to archive the pictures……. Video after the jump. UPDATE: Added video showing folding action, etc… – Thanks to John Aguilar for the tip.
à bientôt
This week in random French road signs, brought to you by sa ka roulé. Soon, young padawan.
Zoolander
I hear they are making a sequel to Zoolander. I don’t remember seeing this from the first time around. The sport sandals make this look. If it had been made a few years later they would have used a longboard.
Birds, bees, and bones
Pay attention in school kids. You never know when things might get interesting. This is a random slide from a biology lecture that Billy Bones attended. I don’t know what’s more messed up, the skater’s wacky shape or his massively receding hairline. It’s also kind of creepy that the only fully opaque figure is a girl in a bikini.
Front side Barack and roll
As disappointed as I am with his term, I was ready to believe this for half a heart beat. This video is fake, but pretty well done. Come on Obama, get some for cryin’ out loud… – Spotted on Facebook via KC
Good Living
If you’re truly living the good life, you want your sandwiches to be fresh, right? What else could you ask for? Sandwhich saver? More like Life saver. – Thanks to Brian for the photo.
Legoland Extreme Zone Shop
A few pics from the Extreme Zone Shop in Legoland Florida. I think it’s less than a year old, and it shows a little. I don’t think it would be worth the cash if it was even moderately busy. For instance the “Factory” exhibit is the shoddiest fake animatronic display that looks like it was designed in one weekend to be temporarily set up in a mall. The park is geared towards little kids though, and mine had a blast. The Extreme Zone shop was just like any shop at the mall or airport. They didn’t give me any grief for moving a few displays out of the way to get the mini ramp in frame.
