Pep #331 and “Tide Ride”
Pep #331 (November 1977) features a one page story with Archie skateboarding titled “Tide Ride,” as well as a Youth Opportunity Sales Club ad in which you can earn a skateboard by selling 16 boxes of greeting cards.

Archie, Betty, and Veronica in “Tide Ride.” There’s a continuity error on the skateboard for those who are paying attention. This is at least the second time Archie has ended up rolling off a pier or dock into the water.
Y.O.S.C. advert. I’m not sure what that skateboard logo is on the top, but it was probably based on a real brand because they took the time and effort to add it to the top. If I figure it out I’ll update. SEE UPDATE!
I feel pretty confident hat the board in this illustration is probably a Huffy 24 Action Tail. The small logo looks like it could be the Thunder Board logo, and the logo on the tail matches those boards as well. In fact, another sales club offers a 24″ Action Tail skateboard, granted they operated out of different states.
