Timbers Army Jacket

Tomorrow is opening day for the Portland Timbers MLS team. This jacket is sold only to members of the 107ist, the official organizing group behind the larger, much looser supporters group known as the Timbers Army. Normally I’d likely pass on posting another Powell Ripper appropriation, but this one manages to tie together 2 of my passions in an unlikely fashion, skateboarding and the Portland Timbers. This is the actually the fourth Timbers post on S&A, none of them gratuitous, including one from before the team was in the MLS. (If you’re keeping track: 1, 2, 3 )

    what does Rose City signify? Shouldn’t it say 107ist or whatever that is? Did you have anything to do with this?/??

      Portland is the City of Roses, or the Rose City, as Chicago is the Windy City, etc… We have a few giant rose gardens. It’s not very tough sounding, but that’s the nickname that stuck, apparently. I had nothing to do with this.

    I use to think that the Mary’s Club jacket was the best nod to Portland, but now I know this jacket is!!!!

    Please tell me they got permission… if not, fk them.

  • If you’re a soccer fan, you should try Soccero board game. Freaking awesome. I have been working to make my own online version if anybody is interested in playing.

    • hello, my name is mimmo. I am italian. Do you speak italian? I would like to play soccero email. For this I created an Excel file with macros that reproduces elements of soccero. In the file you can move players and the ball, throw the die or dice as in a real game (with buttons).
      In addition to the side there is a tab where you can enter the moves performed:
      1 column: m = move; k = kick, sg = shot in goals;
      2 column: value of the die or dice;
      3 column: value kick die ds= kick direct surface; cs= kick curved surface; ca = curved kick in the air;
      4 column: description of the movement with the grid a1-r13 (for movement and kicking)
      notes: eg. rescue attempt of goalkeeper.
      You can execute your turn, move the players on the field and note the move. Then you send me the file (email) and I do my turn and so on ….
      The records of the moves I will need to understand the dynamics of the game (I have to learn the rules in practice) and to keep the games in time.
      I would like to start a game with you, (base rule). I ask you to help me understand the rules and strategies, so you should write down your moves and send the file (mail) to every move. Also, if you want to help me you could put all the moves of a game already played by you sv. Your friends and send my the file, so I reproduce it on the table and I learn. thanks.
      Ps. sorry for my English.
      Hello

      Let me know when you get it working. I’d be interested to check it out. What are you programming in?

        I am using Roll20 virtual table top system for adapting it. I sent you an invite via e-mail. Roll20 is free to sign up for. I use it to run a weekly 2nd edition Dungeons and Dragons game.
