Irene Neuwirth has a skateboard covered in $60,000 worth of rocks up for auction to benefit the Laxart gallery. While I was shocked to learn that she is “admittedly no Tony Hawk,” I was even more shocked to see what amounts to a very expensive and amateurish crafts project passed off as art by a well known jewelry designer. Actually, I know nothing about her, but I’d have to assume she is successful to be able to pony up that much cash for… trash. Natas Kaupas is going to have a piece in there too. Seems like I’ve heard of him sompeplace before. Fashion strikes again!

Well, gluing things on skateboards is a good passtime, but this board is pretty weak. Would like to see some diamonds on a diamond supply deck… maybe one for Lil’ Wayne… oh, wait, I actually don’t want to see that ever…

This thing is fucking ugly and stupid. So fucking sick of regular people making art on skateboards. And these regular people always choose the same typical popsicle deck which is a dead give away that they are idiots. Next trend will be long boards with dreadlocks and coffee machines glued to the top.
Gluing anything on a skateboard other than griptape is just plain stupid. These idiots should glue their shoes and take a ride down a huge hill…CRASH
