Swear to Glob I saw these before somewhere but I can’t place it now. These Wheel Shields are supposed to prevent wheelbite and, I don’t know, mud splatters on you new kicks? These are pre-release photos. No web page and gasp, no Kickstarter either! Just a lowly old Facebook page. Update. There is a web site, but with a different name. Marketing message needs focus guys!

I don’t think you understand exactly how many people longboard as a commute.

This winds me up. It’s just marketing. The wheelbite excuse is to sell the product in dry climates. I think it can be a great rain shield but I can almost count the all-weather long distance pushers around the world on two hands.
Get over it already!

Always someone out there over-engineering something.

This seems like duct taping a problem. Not that this seems all that necessary to me, but if your goal is to eliminate wheelbite(and this is all merely for the academic purpose of bullshiting). Why not fabricate trucks that have a tongue that protrudes up above the wheels? So the tongue hits the board before the wheels do. You could even use threaded bolts that extend from the hangers so you could adjust the height for different sized wheels.

How on earth would this prevent wheel bite?

I wasn’t aware that wheel bite was such an issue, I guess I just skate fast enough that wheelbite can’t stop me 🙂
