I have evolved, but I still get around. Here’s a true exchange I had about this recent eBay purchase:
Friend: How the hell are you going to listen to an 8-track?
ME: It’s OK, I have it on vinyl too.
Friend: Your wife must hate you.
Me: No way. This thing is highly desirable.
Friend: Yeah, to you and 3 other guys.
Me: And if either of those guys win the lottery I’ll be sitting pretty. Better than the odds of me winning. And screw those guys anyway, it’s mine!
Friend: I’m gong to go into business releasing obscure skateboarding music on dead formats just to take your money.
True story. And so here it is. The “I get Around” compilation from Tee Vee Records on 8-track. There’s only one actual “skateboard song” on the compilation. It’s Skateboard Craze by Willie and the Wheels, which I also own separately on a vinyl 7″ single!

Nice! (jealous) but yeah, Lp version is a must too if only for the back cover pic of WWW (aka Wee Willi Winkel, CDN legend and orig supplier of Sims laminate decks) hippie/high jumping over a corvette onto a massive 8 wheeler and it’s still a thrift store staple up here so cheap too

the best version of “Skateboard Craze” is the one pressed on 7″, it
