Poweredge: We are Skateboarders

The crew at Poweredge Magazine is wrapping up a film called “We are Skateboarders” that looks like it has a lot of potential. Vintage footage mixed with modern footage, and a healthy dosage of professional skateboarders on camera. Check out the trailer after the jump. Should be good, after all, one of Poweredge’s publishers Larry Stevenson is the actual inventor of the kicktail.

  1. Uhgh. Another skateboarding documentary? Oh well, at least these guys have the pedigree to make it interesting hopefully. I can’t believe they shelled out for rights to use the Who. Good song choice.

  2. Looks good to me. Is it a DVD release or what?

  3. The print vershin is baddly in need of a profreader them doods spel wurse then Grover…

  4. “The actual inventor of the kicktail”? Wow. I don’t remember hearing that before. I would have bet on Hobie, Skitch Hitchcock, Bruce Logan or someone like that. I guess he and Makaha were right there in the beginning. Stevenson should be more well-known for this, like Nasworthy/Cadillac and urethane wheels. I wonder if this kicktail invention will be mentioned in the docum…oh.

Yes, he had came up with and patented the kicktail but everyone kind of used it anyway. He tried to get a few pennies from people who used the kicktail and double kick, which he also patented in 1970, but most companies did not comply. The whole thing went to the United States Supreme court in 1979.

  6. Ill def watch it . Looks well produced with good skaters dialing in proper no BS commentary . Looks good to me. Song was on par and it worked for the statement of the video.

  7. Looks like a good one.
