Skate and Annoy: Daily

Thrasher stairs photo

Camp Kill Yourself

So I talked Randy into giving me a “column”  in an effort to empty some of my thoughts on skateboarding and the skateboard industry and whatever else i thought would make for good discussion related to skateboarding. It didn’t take me too long to convince him after i brought up the fact that Grover had posting capabilities and basically one rule – no talking about pork products.

The most interesting part of posts on Skate and Annoy and any website are the comments and the viewers opinions on the posted subject. So here we go with my first post:

Jake over at Thrasher wants everyone to die, this time with a post called “Time to Die” which basically encourages people to try and ollie the stair set in the photo below. I believe he also asks people to “go kill themselves” as they attempt to conquer this feat and will reward them with $1000 for footage to prove that it happened. So, what do you think?

The Butcher did one in a recent Toy Machine video that looked almost as big. Even looked similar.

  • I beleive ali boulala is still in jail in australia for manslaughter, maybe when he gets out. I am sure he is really, really, extra, super, sorry about shane cross.

  • I found an online trajectory calculator. A mellow ollie at 19 miles per hour would put you past 24′.

  • That has to be a 12′ drop and about a 20′ gap. Guess it’s all a matter of speed, balls, and a huge clean ollie. Who knows the math to figure out about how fast you need to go? An early morning scooter tow-in and its yours.

  • This is a great post it mentions Grover.

  • Shane Bell

This is why i don’t skate street. Just aint got the knees for it. And i haven’t writin my will yet. Little David can get all my socks.

  • Sarah Palin

    You betcha!

  • Where’s my Sarah Palin link?

  • Ali Boulala is the only dude who can do it, and owes us some pain for killing Shane.

  • Ive seen Jake skating around potrereo a bunch of times. I dont think he could ollie up a curb or down multiple stairs.

  • Jake should go first. What a douche.

  • skaterhusseindave

Jake is now officially banned from my backyard. Don’t tell him, it’ll be more fun to turn him away when he gets here….dumbass

Oh wait, it’s ’09 not ’99. My bad.

  • Stop saying doublepitstochesty it makes me uncomfortable.

  • original aaron

Where the fuck is The Muska when you need him?

I think sheckler double pits to chestied it already.

  • It’s totally doable. There are plenty of kids that will throw themselves down it for $1000.

There’s a 21 stair at the Canadian Embassy in D.C. that I think has yet to be done. 26 isn’t that far off.

This kid gets close to the 21

  • MC, helmet wearing auto-DQs you.

  • don’t do it. there’s a monster that lives under the stairs that’ll get you.

  • JAKEANDANNOY

    Does “firecracker” down it count?
Fuck it, here and now I’m offering a $1500 purse to the first mutherfucker that comes with footage of them throwing Jake Phelps’ instagatin’ ass down that that set.(head first) Unless I can be held legally responsible for the consequences. In that case, Im clearly joking. No stills or cellphone footage. $1500. Cash.

  • Is Jake himself eligible for this competition?

  • Drunk Andy

What’s the run up like? I’m asking the people who have done it.

  • Negative Ned

Why not just make it the Grand Canyon and call yourself Evil Knievel. How about this. SnA will pay double Thrashers amount if Jake Phelps does it first.

  • what would be a fair price?

  • I remember the first time I did that set. It hurt a bit but I walked it off after…

  • Thrasher should add an extra 0 to that amount then it would be an equitable payoff. Pretty tacky to only offer $1000 for something that will definitely break ankles and legs for sure, and maybe death.

  • I could do that but I hate the way I look on video. They’ll just have to take my word for it. Do I win?
