Skate and Annoy: Daily

marks-hole

Maturity and success

I had four different angles I was going to approach this from, but I couldn’t decide:

1 – When some men reach a certain age, they start to think about all the things they wanted in their youth, things that they equated with success in one’s life. For some men, it may be owning a Cadillac, or sailboat, or a house in a particular neighborhood…

2 – I hopped my neighbors fence last night, and that poser was digging a hole for a bowl he is supposedly going to build. He’s such a kook that I decided to blow it out before its even close to being finished…

3 – I went over to Mark’s house to take a picture of his hole. While I was there, I decided to see what he was digging in his back yard…

4 – A lot of people talk about what they are going to do all the time. Some people decide get up off the couch and actually do it….

Congratulations to MC for taking the plunge for his own backyard DIY concrete bowl! Expect to see many comics about the availability of shovel operators being inversely proportional to the amount of potential skateboard operators. Click to enlarge.

  • The bowl is a replacement for the miniramp. I built my big bowl in St Johns.

  • Might not have any flat if its minium of 10ft deep.. ? no Offence Mark, I’m sure it will compare to Mark S. & Mark H. s’ Bowls. OHHH oohhho oooo.

I will be taking bids on its removal in the near future, I knew when I was building it, that was going to be it’s potential fate. I wanted to learn how to work concrete into skatable forms for myself, so I undertook the project where and when I could. I doubt I will actually get much anything built at my new house. I actually have a plan to try and begin a woodland project soon as I have some money to buy bags of concrete…..

  • Where is the street course going?

  • Jerky Boy

Hey! Size doesn’t matter. It’s how you use it. Besides it’s cute.

  • That looks HUGE-ly small… Is it a new plaza? lol

  • your making me feel bad about my 12 year old hole. shoulda dug a smaller one

  • Josef – So what is happening with your current DIY creation? Do you have to remove it or is it staying put?
