You know, for kids! March 29

Tigard Police to Skateboarders: R U Up 4 a Challenge? – In efforts to honor our community’s youth and recognize their hard work and dedication to master the skateboard, Tigard Police is pleased to host a “Skateboard Challenge.” Come be part of this first ever police-inspired skateboarding competition in the area.

Anyone under 19 years of age is invited to participate in the day-long competition planned for Sunday, March 29th. Registration begins at 9:00 am and events continue throughout the day. Elimination competitions will ultimately reveal winners in four different age brackets. Tigard Police have arranged for skate pros to judge the competition. The rules are in place and the music will set the stage for excitement. Awards will be presented to those judged best. There is no cost to participate. Just bring your talent, a good attitude and your helmet. Head protection is required to participate.

All the necessary forms can be found at the Tigard Police website.
Participants are strongly urged to read all the rules to avoid any disappointments. Competitors under the age of eighteen will need a signed authorization by a parent to be eligible to participate. That form can also be found on the website. Competitors are required to be present for the morning registration and trials to take part in the competitive events.

The event will take place at the Jim Griffith Memorial Skate Park located at Tigard City Hall, 13125 SW Hall Blvd. in Tigard. Be sure to check the website as the event nears to learn of any changes or a weather delay in the event of rain.

I can see it now the Cops twist some Pro’s on Parole to judge the competition. Jay Adams, Ronson Lambert and Lizard King. Think of that line up.
