Parents sue school over dork lessons

Parents in Arizona are suing the Gilbert school system over injuries sustained when he fell off a wave board that was being used as part of a physical education class at his junior high school.

Plimpton and Denton allege Mark will have permanent physical and emotional disabilities, disfigurement, humiliation and impairment due to the incident.

No word whether other students asked to ride the device will participate in the humiliation part of the lawsuit.

  • only in az gotta be the tweak in the heat for this shit to make it to public schools is it the principal or the superintendant whos responsible? how about the fact that those Wave Stick Rip stick or stupid snake board minus one segment with casters is a fucking sport now?

  • I wanted to see that Curtis, and thanks to the magical internet and “smokinbuds420” on youtube I was able to. “RipStikNation”!

  • wiggle sticks

  • could be worse, could be riding a carve board at the sportpark.

  • The wave/ripstick are the same thing, just two different companies.

I remember getting knocked out and a bloody lip playing football in the 5th grade. I wish my parents would have thought to sue the school district so they could make their wallets a little thicker. How about we put treadmills in place of chairs. I’m tired of seeing little kids that weight as much as I do.

Funny little tid bit… the rep that I talked to used to be a rep for Rollerblade. I guess he likes getting laid off.

  • I think rip sticks is just another brand. I have personally only seen “rip sticks” in my corner of the US. I’ve never seen a “wave board”
I blame the permanant emotional disabillity on his parents.

  • So THAT’S what they’re called in the US. Up here they’re called “rip-sticks”, and I don’t understand how some twelve-year-old would fall onto a gym floor on one of those things to the point of

  • the kid and his parents are woosies. but the fact that a salesman waltzed in and sold this to the school kinda makes me want to sue ’em too. more proof that homeschooling is the way to go!
I see a kid from time to time who drops in and rides big bowls competently on one of these.

  • I got on one of those in Toys R Us and slammed immediately. It was pretty funny. I managed to recover some dignity by figuring it out a second later. Weird little things.

i hate those things, i cant ride them at all

  • so lame…get up and try again, pu$$y.

    Wow1 That’s some slam!

Lame! It’s funny the kid got injured when a sales rep was at the school demonstrating the product. Classic. That concept is so strange and out dated. Reminds of the Yo-yo tours. I can’t believe they fooling schools into adopting these things for physical education.
