New southern oregon skateparks

Great, more rippers from southern Oregon

Remember all those ripping skaters who came out of southern Oregon? Well I’m guessing we can expect a new crop in the near future. Matt Kline sent us some snaps of a couple of projects currently underway: Shoey’s Coos Bay, Oregon and Grindline in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Dreamland’s Winston, Oregon project is also rumored to break ground in the near future. More shots after the turn.

Matt says the finish work at Coos Bay is looking very good and hey, vert!

Yep, Coos Bay will have a cradle.

Oh man, where are my eighteen inch tall ledges?

Meanwhile, Grindline is building this one in Myrtle Creek.

Brings to mind Grindline’s Dillon, Montana skatepark. Estimated 14-foot-diameter pipes, racetrack!

  1. is this on top of the old myrtle creek park? Is there two parks there when this one is done? will we see a Oregon Skateboard/motocross hybrid race series start up in Oregon?

  2. The madness just doesn’t stop. Wait until the next coastal road trip!

  3. It looks like Myrtle Creek will be hosting the annual Grover Death Race series. These parks look fun. Hey Skaters for Portland Skateparks, we need this kind of stuff here in Portland.

  4. California is Dead, The center for skateboarding is oregon. Ten years from now there will be more pros from oregon than any other country or state, the level of skateboarding in oregon is un-matched.

  5. Myrtle Creek isn’t listed on Grindline, but Coos Bay is. Shows a lot of street elements in the plan. Looks fun.

Ok I guess the word is out on Coos Bay. The grindline plans are gone. There just wasn’t enough money raised for them. So the South Coast Locals got together and decided to build with what little money there was. So this park is Designed & built by locals For Locals.
