Rolling Stone covers Skatopia

Rolling Stone discovers Skatopia

The previous issue (1058) of Rolling Stone had a feature on Skatopia. It would never occur to me to actually pick up a copy of that magazine, so I missed it. The web site has a photo gallery that you have to get ten pictures into before you can actually see any skating.
they’ve also got “exclusive” footage from a trailer for Skatopia, The Movie that is supposed to be out in 2009. I haven’t seen the article so I don’t know how long, bad or interesting it is. I seem to remember Rolling Stone had an article about Dogtown that predated the documentary, but if you search for it now yo uhave to sift through endless Lords of Dogtown reviews and and soundtrack information. – Thanks to Michael Brooke and Larry for the tip.

  • i love how they sing this song in the park in the movie. I love this song…its sooo cute !!!!!!

  • nailhead

Rolling stone can suck a big green donkey shlong. In the 80’s they screamed about the P.M.R.C. ie.Tipper and Al. Then Al runs for Pres. and he becames their favorite socialist pet with a nut job wife in tow. What censorship campaign? On yer knees jagoffs.

rolling stone’s flat out gay. why not put Brewce on the cover instead of those Disney rockers.
There’s a photo of me drinking out the beerbong viking hat on the website and my friend Bill is in the mag driving the rally car i bought.
The best part of the article is the Nick McNight quote “There’s been a lot of sluts on that pole.”

  • ha, its funny you rip on volvos in a skatopia post, i skated with brewce in the late 90

  • the article was pretty decent. I’m looking forward to the movie, I heard about it years ago, sounds like it’s finally almost done. Kilwag, I think the Dogtown article that preceded the documentary was in Spin Magazine. I have a copy somewhere…

  • ha, its funny you rip on volvos in a skatopia post, i skated with brewce in the late 90’s in IL and he was stoked on the Volvo wagon i was drivin, albeit the wagon was a $600 82′ DL model.

  • I have six of the traits that Larry described!

  • Hey, let’s leave the Volvo’s out of this diatribe.

  • good article, besides the trick misnomer. I could almost hear Bruce’s voice when reading the article. Skatopia the movie

  • maybe i should have said Barbara Boxer…

  • yeah shes as dry as a pile of dead leaves i am sure. she always reminded me of Fire Marshall Bill with the skeletor smile.

  • A

Come on, does anyone, even amongst liberals, actually worship Nancy Pelosi? She reminds me of the Nazi in Raiders of the Lost Ark who gets his face melted off. I’m not saying she’s a fascist, just one fugly dried up old bag.

  • In the mag, the skater is being credited as doing a lipslide, when its clearly a crail grab, either tap or grind…Shows once again how Berkeley educated, Volvo driving, pipe smoking, bearded, mac sycophant, chardonnay drinking, conceited, bourgeoisie, tree hugging, portly, Berkinstock wearing, Grateful Dead breakup unacknowledging, Nancy Pelosi worshiping, pro-choice loving, marijuana smoking controllers of all music that is sad and crappy have a chubby finger on the pulse of what all the kids are into these days. Jonas brothers, anyone?
