Commercial two-fer
What is that sassy wench trying to tell you? Isn’t it already completely obvious that hot chicks collect skateboards and eat cheeseburgers? Sometimes a skateboard can be the central element of a commercial, but more and more they are becoming just a small part of a bigger concept, getting lumped in the background with a bunch of hobbies whereas they used to be more of a crazy radical lifestyle commentary. So here’s two currently running commercials that feature skateboarding, one from Gatorade and one from McDonalds.
Gatorade: Without Sweat
Without sweat, a half pipe is just a pile of plywood. For some reason they chose skateboarding footage that was obviously not shot on a half pipe to illustrate that point. They’ve also used that end sequence before, I thought I posted it too, but I can’t find it.
McDonalds: Save your money
If you buy cheap food from McDonalds, you’ll have more money to spend on other things, like collecting totally generic skateboards. I read the The Jungle a long time ago. Have you read Fast Food Nation? Not me, but I did see the movie, makes me think twice about going to McDonalds.
