Max Headroom Coke Skateboard

It came from the 8-8-8-8-80’s

So we covered the 70’s marketing tie in, now it’s time for something that reeks of the 80’s. This Max Headroom / Coke themed skateboard by Variflex is available as a Buy it Now now for $169.99. It’s got appeal for the skateboard collector crowd as well as another equally zealous group of people who collect Coca-Cola advertising material. Max Headroom pushing New Coke! As an example of the exploitation skateboards of the 80’s, this mint board is excellent, if not totally radical. It’s got the full set of plastics with nicely accented risers and a lapper. Geez, did that sentence actually just come from my brain to fingers? Please shoot me. Max Headroom’s popularity lasted slightly longer than that of “New” Coke. More pictures after the jump.

I have a max Head room coca cola 80s skate board sponsored by coca cola, as a grocery store retailer I won the board for selling the most new coke in my area. Has never had it’s wheels on the ground, how much can I get for it?

    • I don’t suppose you still have the board.. If you do I’d be interested in purchasing

      • I have some one who is giving me a set both red and blue backed backround pleas email me your messenger and I

I worked for Coca-Cola. The skateboards were marketing items created for ‘New’ Coke. There were watches, Walkmans, collector pins and a lot of other items. Most were contest prizes or giveaways for employees. I have quite the collection, including that exact skateboard (although not in pristine condition thanks to my kids’ 🙂 ).

Would love to check out some pictures of the merch, if you’d be willing to share, thanks!

  • I have the original board in box from Variflex California. email me for pictures. 300.00 firm

  • Do you still have the 80’s coca cola skateboard for sale?

    Thank you

  • Allen Derisley

My husband and I was getting things ready for a sale and came across one that I had won by putting my name in a box at a local store. The outside box that it’s in has a date of October 1967…I had forgot about winning this but would be interested in selling it…E-mail me if interested..

I just ran across one still in the original box never been ridden. It’s mint I saw that one had sold on e-bay in may 2011 for $210. $169 is a good deal.

  • have the second addition to this model. Max Headroom w/ Veriflew street rage 2 wheels. Unfortunately a car had the last word. Loved that skate though!

  • Moving into a new house, and I ran across this same skate board I had when I was a kid. So I was checking around to see if it is worth anything. Because it def. has a lot of character to the board. Cool look to it. By the way, I wasn’t any good at the skate board thing, ha………….

  • i have an orignal one from back in the day.

  • JAKEFERRANTI

Nothing says “street cred” more than wheels that bear the name “Street Rage”….fur shur.

  • Did the Coca Cola Corporation pay people to ride that around?

  • I remember Barry Stepe buying a Variflex setup at the Toys R’ Us in Peoria and it had those wheels…

  • That is too cool.
