Skate and Annoy: Daily

Bbyhds

Harder and harder to get surprised

After finally seeing a snakeboard in action a week ago, I noticed that the movement looked a lot more like old school rollerskating than skateboarding. I thought that if you were into that, you would probably want to have sideways rollerskates so you wouldn’t have to point your toes at 180 degree angles like some circus clown. I chuckled about the idea of someone trying to bring to market a pair of sideways rollerskates, or even more improbable, small skateboards for each foot. Well it turns out it’s already been done. I know this company will be in business forever, but I’ve taken the liberty of preserving some pictures from thier web site just in case the unthinkable happens.

You can’t have a ridiculous product without a ridiculous name. You can almost imagine the focus group meeting that begat the name Bbyhds, which is pronounced “Babyheads.” I kept thinking it was a joke or a hoax, but sadly, I believe these are real. Although less expensive ways of looking like a jackass exist, for $149.99 suggested retail you can be ahead of the pack. A lord, god, and king.

A big selling point they like to repeat is the ability to wear sneakers and have the skateboards detach like well, skateboards that aren’t attached to your shoes. Plus, you can then use the skateboards as “handboard” toys, but you can still ride them. Try doing that with some stupid heelys.

Bbyhds have even managed to solve the problem of stocking regular and goofy foot shoes as you can see below. Still reading? You can read the press release titled “bbyhds™ Officially Launches Into U.S. Skateboarding Scene” skip to the product site.

I’m sorry. I can’t stop adding to this, but Bbyhds can help you get your runs in during a heated session at Burnside. The copy writer is apparently unaware of the correct usage of the word “snake” in skateboarding.

Hey if I may ask. Where did you order them. I’ve been in search for these for a long time.

  • It’s 2020. I’m a 33 year old white lady. I just bought these for 30 bucks…. almost a dollar per year I’ve been alive. I think the world is finally ready for these.

    • I’m 43 and just picked up a pair for $40… Your assertion that the world is “finally ready for these”, may be a bit premature… Have you ridden them yet? Absolutely ridiculous death traps and I love them, but I don’t think the rest of the world would feel the same ??

  • You made that shit up!

  • I hope they are being serious. Are they? That is ridiculous.
