As seen in the Miami Herald: Skateboarder Ryan Sheckler: millionaire and icon at 16. I’m sooooo happy for you. No, really. What’s there to be jealous about, youth, talent, absurd disposable income? At least I have this crappy web site.
This little bit will explain (or X-plain) everything.
Ryan Sheckler greeted a friend in the lobby of his five-star hotel by showing him the silver chain around his neck.
“Oh, wow.”
Hanging from the chain was a large, diamond-studded medallion with the initials ”RS.” Sheckler, a professional skateboarder and just 16 years old, told the friend one of his sponsors gave it to him.
”I just got it this morning,” Sheckler said.
And how did that happen?
”I don’t know,” he said. “I just asked for it, and they had it made. It’s pretty awesome.”

he’s really good, but his success isn’t something very common. lots of people skate, but only a handful will collect that kind of wealth and fame.

He’s a millionaire, and the Godoys were living in a car underneath the Clown Ramp in Dallas. What’s up with this fucking picture??? Is there really THAT much money in skateboarding?? Of course, I went to Woodfield mall today, and right when I entered there was the Vans store, next to a Zumiez, next to an Urban Outfitters, next to Jimmy Z’s next to Hot Topic. Un-fucking-real. Remember when skating and punk rock were counter culture?

Go sheckler!! He’s sooo successful because he sets such great goals… “I wanna be the best skateboarder in the world”. Most of the pros of past and present just wanted to have fun. Not Sheckler. He wants to be a true skateboard champion. I think he’ll prove once and for all that there really can be someone the who’s the best at skateboarding. Just like Michael Jackson is the musical performer in the world.
