This is a pristine looking True Glide Streaker deck complete with True Glide Trucks that might be are called “Python,” but not to be confused with the U.K.’s Python Wheels. This one has been available on Ebay Italy for some time now, for about 200 Euro. It has an extremely mellow kicktail that looks more like a memory of an afterthought of a kicktail, but it is sure is pretty. Looks like it’s never touched the ground. There’s an ad for this deck from 1976 in the gallery too.
She’s a beaut, Clark.

She’s a beaut, Clark. You can see an advert for this deck in the collection of Skateboarder v2 N5 1976 adverts.

Looks like they really liked that blue and yellow color palette.

Let’s get a one last good look at this truck. The logo on the hanger is interesting and kind of funny because it looks like a child on a playground sign. The baseplate looks like it might say “Python.” There was a Python Wheel sold in the U.K. which was part of Uniroyal’s Vibrathane line of products.

The board shown in this post has precision bearings, which can be seen if you look close enough in one of the photos. This truck comes from the same 1976 vintage advert. It’s clearly set up for loose bearings, but those races can be removed from the axles. This does not look like the same truck though, it has a little smaller hanger and a chrome finish. It also appears to be missing the raised logo on the hanger.

Update: Shortly after publishing this post I managed to find an advert for Python trucks from 1978 from an Ebay seller engaged in the despicable practice of cannibalizing old sktebaord magazines to sell single adverts. Gent bent skate history carpetbaggers!
