I was completely unaware of the Skuda brand of skateboards until I started posting ads from som UK-based magazines in the Vintage Skatemag Ads gallery. Like most overseas brands of the 70’s, they never had any market presence in the crowded USA market. Both of the Skuda ads I’ve seen so far are for some pretty nice looking wooden decks, but it looks like they also made some plastic decks.
Photos courtesy of Jon Welton (red) and Adrian Wink (white/yellow) Update: added couple more.
These pics from Jon show Skuda branded trucks that I have not seen advertised before. They have a crazy mounting hole pattern. It’s unclear (insert pun) whether this transparent red board is made out of plexiglass or lexan like some others. (Update: Polyurethane, not lexan.)
UPDATE: looks ike they made this in blue too. Photo thanks to Noel Mepham.
Here’s another photo from Adrian showing the green model, which was third model. The one on the far left just looks like it is black. This photo also shows a better view of those Swiss-cheese base plates. It’s interesting that some of these Supa-Skudas are not equipped with Skuda trucks.
Adrian says this NOS three-bar Skuda 1 in tie-dye finish is extremely rare.
And finally, another rare Skuda model courtesy of Adrian. This one is designated for slalom.
