Superhero girls on skateboards

Superhero girls love skateboards

Allstar Batman and Robin #10 caused a stir when it was released, and it wasn’t because of Batgirls foul stance, rather the foul language in the comic whose transparent black censor blocks left the cursing clearly legible. Which begs the question, if you are going to censor it, why not just have the writers change the words outright instead of going through with the charade? It was only matter of time before the images were uploaded with the censor blocks removed. Iwas going to tell MC about this last night, but it turns out he already covered it. But I’ll bet he doesn’t know about the cover of Supergirl #1 that I found on Zaius Nation.

– Thanks to Adam Shahan for the tip.

Here’s the cover of Supergirl #1. Come on, really? This is the very first time they’ve had a Supergirl comic? I saw this on Zaius Nation. They just had a link to it on Photobucket which is annoying because you can link directly to an image, but not the gallery owner without logging in.

Supergirl #1 - Supergirl with a skateboard

This imageof Batgirl on a skateboard is hosted over at the Comic Book Resource, where they made the annoying decision to highlight the areas where the foul language is used. Who would have ever thought the C-word would be used in conjunction with a (legitimate) Batgirl image?

  1. That sort of objectification is just offensive. I mean, on that Supergirl cover there is no suggestion that the skateboard is anything other than a thing to ogle and they just crop out the entire back truck.

  2. at least shes wearing a flannel…..

  3. My graphics are *up here*.

As good as an artist as Jim Lee is, he can draw a skateboard for crap. The front truck is backwards, the board a spongy plank, and the wheels like 4 inches wide. That is all.

looks like a longboard with Randalls to me, so they’re not backwards.

  8. Neat! Anyone notice the sweet checkered pattern Supergirl’s wheels? Looks like a pretty laborious pour. And…no, I doubt that those are supposed to be Randals…
