Born Against: The Rebel Sound of Shit and Failure, with Chuckles
Band: Born Against
Release: The Rebel Sound of Shit and Failure
Release Date: 2003
Label: Kill Rock Stars
The Rebel Sound of Shit and Failure is a compilation Born Against singles, EP’s, and maybe even some demos from 1989-1993. Honestly, I can’t be bothered to listen to this CD filled with intense, mostly generic hardcore. I only bought it because I find Men’s Recovery Project to be the highest level of artistic achievement and can listen to it for hours on end, and I thought Sam McPheeters might get an extra dollar in his pocket. Also, it came from Buy Olympia with a package of Chuckles and a hilarious product description. I swear I think it cost less than $10.
Verdict: I liked the Chuckles the best out of the two of these. Although the album is generally humorless, I did enjoy the cover and delivery of X’s Riding With Mary.
